None of the undercard fights are on boxrec either.
Does this mean the entire card is unsactioned or exhibitions?
I just find it odd that the fight is in 2 weeks and there is nothing on boxrec.
You nailed it!
If the WBC heavyweight champion of the world lost to a UFC fighter having his first ever boxing match, the sport of boxing would become a laughing stock in the eyes of the world. So the boxing authorities are hedging their bets. They have decided that, until the fight is over, it is neither a real fight nor an exhibition, but has the potential to be either, depending on how it goes.
If Fury wins, it will be revealed as a real, sanctioned fight and the result entered into the boxing records.
If Fury doesn't win, it will be revealed as an exhibition match with no winner, no loser and no official result.
:lol1:
I was listening to Dan Rafael's podcast and he was trying to get a real answer from anybody but couldn't. Nobody has a 100% surefire answer. If they want to call it a real boxing match, then call it. If not, call it an exhibition. But they've got their feet under both categories...and that screams: "Fury wins, it's official. If Francis wins, then it was just an exhibition."

And that’s a surprise to you cause why??
ESPN is reporting that the fight will not count on their records.
This sounds fishy. Why Floyd-Conor did, then?
Is there some kind of a clause in the contract like no head punching?

Fury's WBC heavyweight title won't be on the line in his 10-round bout with Ngannou and it won't count on their records.

It’s not sanctioned by any recognized sanctioned bodies WBC , WBA , IBO , IBF , WBO . It wouldn’t make boxrec .
It doesn't need to be sanctioned by any of the alphabet orgs if no titles are on the line. If it is sanctioned by any recognised athletic or sports commission, it will be a real, official boxing match.
We will see soon, they say whatever about this fight that is Schrödinger-like one: it is boxing one, it is real, it has a rematch clause, and it isn't a title one, but it is not on their records.

- - Means Blubber melting before the public meaning the next $$$ for his career gonna be the rendering factory where they take all the dead horses.
It won’t affect their records, but I do agree boxrec has taken a hit the last few years

They say it isn't and will be on their record. On top of that, BoxRec is becoming absurd these days.
