The biggest fight Top Rank has done as the lead promoter in the past 7 years only did about 150k PPV buys and a $3 million gate | BoxingScene Community
The comments before mine in this thread are very interesting.
Whenever someone points out something negative about PBC, we don’t read alot of comments about ‘promoter fans’ etc.
Yet when a thread like this is created, that is the go to deflection response.
Can someone explain why this happens?
That’s a great point, Dunn. The “promoter fanboy” accusation usually only comes up when someone supports PBC or attacks Top Rank.
When people criticize PBC (as I do from time to time) you rarely see that accusation get thrown around.
And you see it with media personalities too. Steve Kim and Michael Montero will act like braying jackasses about promoter fanboys when it comes to PBC, but conveniently ignore that they themselves act like Top Rank shills and attack dogs.
Top Rank are involved in the Fury vs Ngannou fight. {"data-align":"none","data-size":"large","data-attachmentid":32038844} {"data-align":"none","data-size":"large","data-attachmentid":32038845}
This Top Rank fanboy is mad that Top Rank can't put on big fights while PBC can
I'm not sure that you should be calling anybody a "fanboy", since YOU were the one who started this thread just to shade Top Rank and puff on Haymons hog.....
Terry stop it. PBC got the funds because Haymon had a documented history of being successful and presented them a sound business plan.
They don’t just give away $700 mil like that on a whim. Bob went to ESPN because of it, so clearly he was looking for additional resources, as any business does.
He didn’t ruin any of them. He didn’t ruin TR either. I just think TR hasn’t had the kind of fighter that can sell a lot because most lack charisma and don’t connect to a wide range of fans.
Should Teo and Shakur keep fighting top guys and winning , I think they eventually will have a PPV fight that will sell big, assuming 1 or both hasn’t left TR by that point.
yeah, it was real "sound" alright, LOL
"How to Lose $700 Million in 12 Months or Less". Could be a best seller haha
Man stfu. You know absolutely nothing about the business and how it works.
All you know is pbc is run by al haymon, a black man and that's enough for your stupid race cheeringass needs to know to defend em to death. Just stfu moron
Go back to your banned screen name peepeepoopoo idiot.

well, at least they didnt lose 700 million of someone elses money.
So there's that.......
PBC can put on big events. Top Rank can't. :lol1:
That's just the truth. Deal with it
They were the lead promoter for Fury-Wilder 2 and 3 off the top of my head.
No they were not. That was a 50/50 joint deal with PBC. :lol1:
Top Rank needs PBC to do any sort of Big fight.
To my knowledge he never went around rattling a tin cup. He didnt think it was necessary to waste 700 million on a failed attempt to run everyone else out of business.
The only promoters that PBC could be credited with "ruining", would be Main Events, Star Boxing, Dibella, and maybe Goosen, since none of them can get TV dates anymore. The funny part is that PBC probably could have just BOUGHT all 4 companies outright for less than 25 million LOL

No sheet! They cry that they don't get to see enough bouts and then beach when they do.
Or make fun of the promotion.
That sentence that you wrote should be put in to the Boxing Scene Hall of Fame.:fing02:
These are sad times that we are living in today.................Rockin':boxing:
You piss and sh-t stained imbecile, you want America to fail just like the idiots that want boxing to fail.
People like you are why we are living in sad times.
He also wasn’t deemed good enough to receive that amount.

They knew you would come on here and start bellyaching
Since you didn’t answer the question asked, there was no need to quote me.
Kindly return to washing Manny’s nutsack and taint with your tongue rather than stalk me.

What am I missing? Is there even a single die-hard Top Rank fanboy here similar to PBC fans? Who is supposed to sulk in a corner and cry about what you're posting here? I'm not getting it. Haven't seen anyone saying, "Thank you, Bob Arum!"
Why would any boxing fan care about this? When did this era of promotional company fans start?
All of that impacts boxing fans at the end of the day, from what match ups get made to even things like PBC leaving showtime means all their future fights will be on lower quality DAZN who has lower production quality. Im sure when madden retired from broadcasting all the NFL fans were complaining about him being replaced by whomever.
Arum will die anyday now and that will probably cause a big shake up, but I guess from what OP is saying they have slowly been declining already.
