He doesn't need to fight Benavidez or Bivol or Beterbiev to cement his legacy. He can cross his fingers and hope Zurdo gets something sooner or later and fights him. That way he'd be a 5 division world champion and cement his long term legacy without fighting all the hard unnecessary fights.
Canelo hasn't gotten a stoppage in 3 fights at 168 now either, against a mandatory, a 40 year old, and a 154lber.
He must need more of those tacos...
I do rate him, but his performance lately, coupled with the timing after ALL the champions in Reynoso's stable popped for PEDs and then looked flat since, is very suggestive.
Kovalev was done and he took the fight on a very short notice.
And the fight was pretty much close.
Kovalev just went life and death with green Yarde. Yarde basically collapsed from a jab through exhaustion. Team Canelo quickly sent Kovalev a big $ offer to take the fight without rest. If you just look at the result, the Kovalev win for ginger is impressive, but if you look at the circumstances, it was a safe fight for ginger.
It seemed pretty good with Kovalev, granted he may have been shot

Canelo doesnt even have real power for 168 he just loads up on his shots at the expense of using combinations. I get why he made this adjustment but guys at cruiser arent going to be bothered by his power if he cant even stop little jermell, ryder or geriatric GGG.
Yes, Canelo`s power is useless over 168.

Ramirez has not enough power for that weight. True cruiserweights will beat him. Smith jr. is not a cruiserweight.
It was a debut. Obviously he's got a little extra weight to get comfortable with training and improving his conditioning and power-weight ratio. There are more belts than champions these days - Golden Boy will do the grunt work of finding the opportunity.
