After the fight he said he would give him a rematch at 154 but now he's saying only at 147. Is that a but messed up? Only because Spence bent over backwards to give Bud this opportunity.
He was a bigger draw ppv wise while also holding 3 of the 4 belts. He went against his advisors and PBC in order to make the fight and gave Crawford everything he wanted. This fight essentially elevated Crawford to upper echelon of boxing with his all time great performance that night while embarrassing Spence
I dont get why he wont rematch at 154. Thoughts?
Nope, PBC blackballed the man and slandered him for years & made him wait till he was 36 years old to finally get a shot at a belt.
He owes them NOTHING.
Now, if it was a close fight, I might agree, but this was a bludgeoning and there's no reason to think a few pounds is going to be the difference ESPECIALLY since nobody was talking about how Spence was weight drained when he was beating Porter, Ugas, and Garcia.
If they'd fought Bud 5 years ago like they should have, they might've had a trilogy or quadrilogy by now.
Because his career is done. Maximize money. How much would Spence/Thurman Ppv do? Spence could lose that fight even.
I reckon it does solid numbers tbf. Spence is a pretty big draw going off his previous PPV fights- they’d try and market it as a grudge match too.
I think he handles Thurman pretty comfortably too. Thurman is just looking to cash out IMO.
I don’t get it man, he’s just gonna get outclassed and beaten up again.
I’m a big fan of both guys, from a Spence fan standpoint I don’t see any benefit of taking the immediate rematch. Got to 154, rebuild your confidence against Thurman type, try pick up a belt at 154 and then maybe look at the rematch if you’re dead set on it. That way there’s at least a selling point of Spence looking back to his best at 154. Crawford wins regardless though.

Just the Errolsexuals who have been making all the excuses

Curious... Would you rather see Bud v Spence at 154, or Bud V Charlo at 154, or Bud v Canelo at 168?
For me personally, I'd prefer to see Bud take on Charlo at 154, whether the latter wins or loses against Canelo, and if he beats Charlo, then take on whoever is champion at 168. For Bud's sake, that ought to be Canelo just because I doubt Charlo becomes a huge cash cow even if he beats Canelo. I don't care about the Boots or Stanionis fights. Both those guys need to stay active. I'd like to see them fight at 147 for a vacant belt, TBH, and I would like to see Spence v Vergil Ortiz Jr or Tim Tszyu at 154.
No.
But it certainly puts Crawford in a different sort of light. Just a little bit.
He did all that whinging but then does this with Spence and then treats Boots like how the others were treating him.
Because he doesn't really want it he is looking ahead at Canelo Charlo etc, I don't see how they could pay for the fight its not going to generate anywhere near what it did and the fighters want more money than the first time, the fall out to all of it will be IF Errol looks really good at his 154 debut, then the weight asterisk will be hanging over the 147 fight until its settled at a higher weight, so for me it all depends on Errols next performance.
if it's at 154 then they can use that to sell the fight... "you will see a new spence at 154".... although the rematch will not sell as much as a fight with TC and canelo...I still think the rematch with TC vs spence will do better than TC vs charlo.
Both Haymon and Crawford were ready to move on if their contractual demands weren't met. After that Avanesyan **** Bud pulled, Errol could have dropped the belts, moved up and fought Thurman at 154 and now be in line for a Canelo bout. He didn't.
Instead, against his own best interest ($$$, weight, layoff), he caved to Bud's demands for the sake of legacy and history and still has yet to make an excuse for his performance.
Now he can't even get a rematch, that he'll certainly lose because Bud is just better, at a comfortable weight that Bud has previously stated he'd have no problem meeting at.
Spence wasn't getting Canelo in any outcome and neither wil Bud. People need to stop hyping 147s vs 168 champ. Avensayan bull? He was a free agent Haymon and Spence had months to make it and couldn't so he went and made a quick 10m and stsyed active, smart. Spence did not favours to Bud he did what he was suppose to ages ago.he should not be getting extra credit should be the other way for taking the p*** making the fight clearly they could have last year if they did this year. Thurman would have kod spence anyway and ive saod that before july 29
He is waiting on Canelo Charlo he could fight the winner next, that's where he is atm, all might change in a few days I want to see what he does if the winner is super impressive, will he be so eager then.
You already know the answer to that.
There's no way Canelo can fight Bud before giving the winner of Benevidez-Andrade a shot. That would be unforgivable.
Bent over backwards to make it happen? Tired of hearing this **** that Spence did him a favour. Did he f***.

Yes it is. He'll win at any weight, but be a man of your word.
Who else is he planning to fight?

Bent over backwards to make it happen? Tired of hearing this shit that Spence did him a favour. Did he f***. They made up the street excuses for years. Even when he was free all last year they made it difficult.people need to stop acting like bud wasn't champ, u can say he did spence a favour. Both needed each others belt for undisputed. Only reason Spence came back to the table this year, is cause thurman fight was ordered and haymon and them wanted to make thst but he can't stand thurman, thurman would have stopped him the same way. Took the threat of his team and wbc making him fight thurman for him to finally get back to being more serious with bud and agreeing what he deserves to make that fight cause he ain't want to be forced to fight thurman otherwise.
even at 154, he still beat spence so not sure why he's playing around saying it has to be at 147.

I personally would like to see the fight at 154 but Crawford and Spence agreed already that a rematch would be at 147. So that’s what it should be BUT BUT BUT if Crawford truly wants to prove his greatness. HE SHOULD fight at 154-160. Why? First to prove how great he is and 2nd to show he’s really trying to get up to 168 to fight Canelo. He should also fight a top 168 guy like Plant before Canelo.

no. Bud said spence never told him in writing that he's having trouble making weight or he wants the fight at 154.
whats messed up is errol's performance at the night of the fight.
that shhh was atrocious !
horrible!
he barely won a single round against his arch nemesis
