Kickboxing is the only real "martial art" where guys have had great success with boxing. Caleb Plant for example was a kick boxer. Riddick Bowe, Vitali and Ray Mercer were all former kick boxers.
Riddick Bowe was never a kickboxer. He was a pure boxer who tried kickboxing once or twice.
Ray Mercer was not a kickboxer either. In fact, he elected to wear shoes but not allowed to kick in his two KB fights..
I didnt know it was possible to throw punches that wide and that defensively open. Learn something new today, thanks OP
He was new in the game. And I'm guessing you've seen Wilder
"Ngannou started with boxing, so he has got boxing ability, quite fast hands and powerful shots. I remember when I was sparring with him, they were going whistling past my body and head."

Well we know accuracy isn't his forte then because Ngannou must be the only man to ever throw a punch at Joe Joyce and miss.
That has nothing to do with it. Relatively few of his opponents were out cold.
Define "out cold"
Are you saying you don't have one punch KO power unless you leave every opponent twitching with brain damage?
Kickboxers are not boxers. They rarely have jabs, they push their shots, they don't have footwork... They just stand and plow...
kickboxers have one dimension of boxing. There is real boxing in KickBoxing but it's a tiny part of it .

That's still a bit of a tough one, because Silva was a kickboxer who also had five or six pro boxing fights under his belt too IIRC. It wasn't a one time thing

Yeah, this is nonsense.
Sergio Mora put it best, "a boxer has a puncher's chance in an octagon, but an MMA fighter stands NO chance in a boxing ring"
*unless the boxer's compromised like Chavez Jr.
Chavez Jr wasn't compromised lol..
Only because they didn't stop fights like they do now.
He dropped Frazier six times in two rounds, and the only reason they stopped the fight is because Dundee and Durham were yelling at the ref to stop it.
And even still, during his first boxing run, most of his fights only lasted 3-4 rounds.

Foreman for all his storied punching power legend was hardly ever a one punch KO guy. He mostly wore his opponents down into TKO's.

Everyone’s fundamentals are better then Wilders you aren’t stating anything no one knows . My 20 yr old son has better fundamentals with just training with me 6 months and he hasn’t even had one amateur fight yet ? Lol
Id agree Ngannou is more skilled but his style requires defense responsibility,I see holes like Swiss cheese , only thing you got on your side is Fury hate’s pressure and pressuring and a fast pace him shows how overatted his own defense is . At the end of the day experience wins at this level not hitting harder if Fury can’t win it’s over for him because if you claim your the greatest you don’t lose to guys like Ngannou . If Ngannou tries to make it a jabbing contest he will set himself up for a knockout loss .
This fight was from 2015...he was a rookie then.
Yeah, this is nonsense.

Yall are getting trolled by an account who's user name is a Frank Dux reference. C'mon Tanakasensei, quit picking on old men on the internet. It's low hanging fruit.
Ngannou is bigger than Wilder.... And has better fundamentals, as you can see in any training clip of his.
his.
His jab is light years better than Wilders..
?
Ngannou trains different fundamentals entirely... Apples to Oranges. A jab is delivered differently depending on naked hand, small glove, big glove. It is why the foward lead in preclassical boxing was eclipsed by the jab. Itb is why an art like Wing Chun looks like it does and is 90% nullified when anything is put on the hands... The connection, the kinematic chain occuring between my body, to hand, to opponent's target area cannot occur with a buffer the same way. Punches have to become more about swinging a lot of mass and less about an accurate connection.
Can we stop pretending this is a serious fight? Please?
I can understand why is Fury doing this, it is a smart business move, but it has nothing to do with the real boxing.
Can we stop pretending Ngannou has anything for Fury?
Ngannou's technique is poor and he's slow af by boxing standards. What are you looking at?
He's going to get mopped.
