Skills Challenge is finished.
Turki Alalshikh is running boxing in Saudi now, at the direction of MBS.
Fury has apparently just signed a 200 million deal with them, and Usyk was seen meeting with Turki Alalshikh last week.
Fury vs Ngannou has been booked to open Riyadh season, and i think that Fury vs Usyk will close Riyadh season in March.
This is why Joshua vs Wilder is dead, that money is going to Tyson and Usyk.
Man, pro boxing is a cruel sport, you can`t claim somebody is N.1. because he beat somebody 8 years ago.
With Usyk beating Joshua twice it is very debatable who is. N.1.
And again, Fury has fought only 3 top 10 guys in 10 years. He is far from being a legit N.1. for me.
Not to mention he popped for nandrolone for the biggest win. I do rate Wilder more than most on here, but I don't rate cheaters. And Fury's been gaming the system his whole career. When you get stripped of your boxing license for cheating, that makes your win suspect. Being unwilling repeatedly to face the best does as well. He's had, what, ONE voluntary defense, and the other defenses he had to be forced to. Wilder 3 required a court intervention, and Whyte needed to have several purse bids ordered because Fury couldn't stop screwing around in negotiations. I haven't seen any kind of supreme skill other than the willpower to get back up after getting knocked down by Wilder, and we still need to see Wilder in with someone top other than Fury and old Ortiz to know what he's got. I'd personally be curious to see how Wilder would do against Joyce. That would be telling.
Fair play if you do, but I'd argue if you haven't given him credit for beating a HOFer & one of the best HW's in history, according to many pundits, Wlad, & one of the hardest punchers in boxing history, Wilder, a mere fight, not even a W, over Usyk shouldn't be what gets you over the finish line.
And even if I'm wrong about you I'd bet you are in the minority of Tyson-haters to have that stance.

I hope so.
I think Fury offered Usyk a fair split given their current commercial values. Usyk knew this too and initially accepted but later declined when the idea of having a Saudi fight caught up as he could negotiate independently. However, now that he knows his Saudi backers are no longer in the game, he might be more tempted to finalize a deal. Given what Dubois has done to him and how he could lose against someone else or keep getting single-digit paydays, a deal to fight Fury would be a lot more acceptable even at 30% or whatever the new Saudi organization offers.

Don't forget that Fury signed up to fight David Haye back in the day, despite being a massive underdog.
95% of people on here predicted that Haye was going to knock him clean out.

I give him huge credit for those wins. And you'll see that on past posts of you wanted to. Or you can just take my word for it.
While I question Wilder's status... I think I called the second fight one of the best ever displays by a British boxer overseas.
I think he's been given too much of a free pass for not going through with the rematch against Wlad. And there's the fact that he was already under a drugs cloud... and later banned from a convenient time of two weeks after the Wlad fight so that result stayed on his record.
My questioning of him has always been about what he does once he has a belt. I think he's a very disappointing champion, and he's yet to surprise me or prove me wrong.
Eff Pandas
I won't quote all that...
But if he fights Usyk I'll give him all the credit in the world. I don't even care who wins - may the best man win.
Its is moving the goal posts. When you ask who he has fought that was tough the obv answer is two guys no one can deny are tough. Wlad & Deontay. Idgaf if you think this, that & some other thing about his whole resume. I gave you the answer a sane person wouldn't disagree with & now I see disagreement & goal post moving. Y'all need to quit being so biased & silly about this.
I think he'll fight Usyk as long as the Saudis throw the money at it & I think they will. I think he's gonna beat dude 8-4 or stop him & then we'll see another goal post moving & Usyk will have been "too old" or what have you so ppl still can move with their anti-Tyson narrative into the future.
Fair play if you don't like the guy. Its not relevant to anything tho. Hell I like Tyson, despite not trusting ANYTHING he says too much, & I still think it'd be cool to see Ngannou (the nicest mfer who fights on this planet I think) or Usyk (a guy who keeps going all over the world to beat mfers on their own turf & is the smaller guy at HW) beat Tyson, but I just don't see it happening & by no means do I think a pro fighter at this level as fearing another pro fighter or having a fear of losing like ppl love to say faaaaaaaaaar too often.
Fighters don't fear fighters. But they do make business and legacy decisions.
My belief is that Fury is focused on low risk business decisions. I don't really care what he says, I look at what he does. And while his utterings are all over the place, his actions aren't. He's actually very consistent.
It would be out of the ordinary for Fury to choose to fight Usyk.
And that is what the discussion was about. Not whether he's ever fought a tough fighter. He's a two time champion, of course he's fought tough opponents... its about whether he would choose to do that when he's got something to lose. And he's never done that. Not once.
EDIT: I should add that I actually don't have an issue with what Fury is. I believe he has decided he will make as much money as possible while taking as few risks to his body and brain as possible. His brother seems to be doing pretty much the same. That's fine by me - I've no right to expect any more from them. Their brains, their decision.
But as a boxing fan it's not something I rate in boxing terms. Tyson could be an all time great.

This fight is as bad as Canelo fighting Charlo. A good big man will beat a good small man 9 times out of 10.
Anthony Joshua is fake - he puts on this fake persona for the camera's.
Once someone challenged him he EXPOSED himself (See Jarrell Big Baby Miller confrontation)
Remember those comments he made about race to Eddie Chambers?
I heard allegedly he did the business with a sports journalist in his RR.
Deontay Wilder is fake - once he got money Wilder changed.
One more thing - Fury got set up by that secret society because he called out g*ys and p*dos and j**s and d**il worshippers.
If Fury was on peds when he fought Wlad, why hasn't Wlad/K2 got the result voided?
Because they didn't have VADA testing for that fight, which Klitschko's team have said they regretted.
Fury's UKAD ban for nandrolone effectively ended up being for one day in Feb 2015 against Hammer then he was eligible for the Klitschko fight in November 2015 and then banned for two years from about two weeks after that fight.
it doesn't get talked about as much as it should. His charge was upheld, yet his period of ineligibility was conveniently backdated to just miss his title fight.
The guy said Tyson never fought tough opps. I said he did. Without debate Wlad & Deontay were tough opps & anyone with a brain & unbiased opinion would agree.
Now you doing some weirdo goal post moving onto some sh^t no one was talking about.
It's not moving goal posts. It's the same discussion.
Someone said he won't fight Usyk because he doesn't take tough opponents. You stated he fought two tough opponents already. I showed that he only takes a tough opponent when he doesn't hold a belt... after that he will dodge anyone who carries any kind of risk.
I agree with the original post. I don't see him fighting Usyk because he's holding a belt. He's not taking any chances with that unless he absolutely forced to.
Title holders can have non-title fights. James Toney & JCC used to do it all the time.
With approval of the org they can.
The point I was making is that the WBC didn't have to approve it and could have stripped him.
If Fury was on peds when he fought Wlad, why hasn't Wlad/K2 got the result voided?
He was. Tested positive for nandrolone from a Feb 2015 sample. Also the cocaine. He vacated the titles prior to the investigation and got his British boxing license revoked as well. The only reason he didn't get more results was that he played the mental health/retirement card, and made a big media circus about wanting to kill himself, so that people would turn on anyone trying to overturn the result. Klitschko didn't want to make a fuss about it when the titles were already vacated and there was no chance of a rematch anyways. He was cleared to fight for the titles again anyways before the investigation was complete, and then lost that too, and wasn't interested in kicking a man while he's down. Fury has been playing everyone ever since.
And getting results overturned almost never happens anyways, especially when the fighter already vacated the title in question.
Why does Fury vs AJ make sense? AJ isn't a champion and has looked terrible in his last couple of fights.
The only fight that makes sense is Fury vs Usyk for undisputed.
The Saudis don't care about making a profit
Because that is a fight that would generate the most money.
The only fight that makes sense and that would generate the money Fury wants is Fury/AJ. Usyk is not a draw. He does nothing to promote the fight. He can barely speak English and besides, it is not his style to talk bollocks like Fury does.

Hearn, Joshua, Froch, Bellew, Nelson, Fearon, Teaboy Smith, Wilder, Usyk ALL JEALOUS of Tyson Fury.
Fury is the cash cow of boxing.
Hearn has been exposed (BIG TIME)
After Ngannou, Usyk would be great (FIRE) and afterwards Mr Jon Bones Jones. M Room will be spying on the October 28th event.
Champions cannot fight anyone they want they have to be within the rankings 10/15 .The Fury fight is a non title fight because he cannot actually get a Ngannou title fight because it would be in fact illegal any sanctioning body isn’t allowed to sanction such a title fight with Ngannou bc he’s not even a pro boxer . But keep defending it ,your all over the place you got to be a Fury fan . Lol
Fury only fought Wlad because he was on peds then ran away from the rematch knowing he wouldn’t be allowed to be on them after he got investigated. He fought Wilder the worst technique in modern times for 3 years but I’m sure you’ll defend that to even though that’s the only top guy besides Whyte he’s fought the entire time ? :Flush:
