Interviewer: So you're fighting strictly for money.
Fury: Yep.
Interviewer: There's going to be contenders out there who are fighting for love, desire all that...
Fury: Exactly, and I have no interest in fighting those guys.
Absolutely disgraceful.
The man has 3 title defenses in his career. I have never, ever heard or seen this behavior from a boxer, definitely not in the heavyweight division.
He hasn't fought all year and now just admits why.
If a beltholder comes out publicly saying he has no intention of fighting ANYBODY, he should be stripped immediately.
He's just holding the WBC belt hostage and hurting the career of other boxers.
There should be a public petition from the top ten heavyweights demanding for him to be stripped.

Well, first of all beat francis, then Jon Jones, then Usyk in march and then josh. If possible fight zhang too, if zhang beats Joyce. Then thats it i think.
It's not about who he hasn't fought. It's about who he has fought.
A champion faces his challengers and beats them. Fury doesn't; he lets others beat each other and then claims the W.
You don't clean out the division through inactivity. The next guy he's fighting isn't even ranked in the division!
Fury and his hardcore fans all want his nearest competition constantly fighting each other 'But very rarely if ever fighting Fury'.
And when one fighter beats another fighter, or a certain fighter does not perform spectacularly?
Fury's hardcore fans like clockwork orange, will act as if Fury has beaten those fighters because they were beaten by somebody else 'Told you Fury would beat so and so, Did you see that last night? Fury would blast that guy out' <<< Typically those would be the type of comments in mass you would see during the aftermath of Fury's nearest competition fighting.
About 80% of Tyson Fury's reputation is built up off fights he has not fought in, and feats he has never achieved 'Fury did not beat up or knock Wladimir Kiltschko out, and he never re-matched him unfortunately' Kiltschko was a Champion for close to 10 years, and was denied a rematch.
Fury beat Wladimir Kiltschko, and it was a mega win in terms of historical magnitude for Fury 'But the win was not a conclusive win, or a compete dismantling of the Kiltschko reign'.
Lets get it right, 17 months after Fury vs Kiltschko. And after Kiltschko enduring 3 back to back training camps, due to Fury pulling out his scheduled rematch multiple times vs Kiltschkko 'It was Anthony Joshua who beat up and knocked out Wladimir Kiltschko in the greatest Heavyweight title fight of the past 25 years'.
The raw statistics are, is that yes Fury has has two mega wins on his resume 'Kiltschko & Wilder'. But outside of those fights, Fury 95% of the time is fighting at domestic to high end European level 'And his next fight is not even against a professional boxer'.
Tyson Fury is not a great Champion, right now as we speak 'Nobody can rate him as all-time great Champion'. Fury has not achieved those level of greats feats, and he does not have the statistics on his resume 'Those are the raw facts which I believe his hard fans, try mightily to over compensate for by discrediting pretty much all of his nearest competition. And also putting major emphasis on mythical match ups'.
Me personally I am just going to observe this era and Fury's reign playing out 'To be a hardcore Fury fan, you have to betray and lie to yourself on a weekly basis'.
This is the only way they can maintain their elitist attitude and audacity to debate with the reality of the current Fury reign against anyone opposing.
Note: I am not here to totally discredit Tyson Fury 'I personally believe that he is a great fighter. But I don't rate him as great Champion'. Fury's own brother in a recent interview has even stated himself 'That he does not rate Tyson Fury as a great Champion, and that Fury much prefers being a underdog'. Fury's brother stated this in his own words, but this is what I have been saying for a long time.
And Fury's behavior and moves as a Champions has to date pretty much proven this etc.
He's not cleaned out the heavyweight Division?
who's he missed who's so very important?

You are living in the past.
If you are a world champ, you must keep on defending your title over and over again.
You can`t just say after beating 3 guys "oh, I beat all top contenders, now I can fight UFC guys". That is not how the sport works.
Tyson Fury, who ended the Klitschko era and twice bested Deontay Wilder, the 2nd best heavyweight of this era....is an "embarrassment" to the green belt once owed by Samuel Peter, Bermane Stiverne and Oleg Maskaev?
Wow
Further proof that nobody can advance beyond the Casual Fan level on the subject of boxing by just reading the posting done here or following the fight news.
Like most any subject, you have to study the history in order to understand it.
What's Oleksandr Usyk ever done to make Fury consider him a worthy challenger, anyway?
Last time I looked he was stretched out on the floor for three minutes from a body shot.
...But it gets worse for the Casuals who believe the WBC can actually "Strip" the Lineal HW champion......Los Banditos is instead making a NEW BELT to present to the Fury - Ngannou winner!!!
Lol Lol Lol

You've embarrassed yourself so much with this post that I barely know where to start.
Actually, I'll go with...
"HE'S FIGHTING A 37 YEAR OLD DEBUTANT!"
As for the guys you mention, it really doesn't matter whether you rate them. They fought who they needed to fight. Samuel Peter tried to make a unification fight but first fought the Emeritus champion. Not sure how you can have a go at him. He was a real titlist who fought the fight he needed to.
And of course the WBC can strip him. Not of lineal (which he has already rendered a worthless designation), but of his WBC title.
That you go with the "casual" argument is even more embarrassing for you. It's an easy criticism to level without any knowledge of the poster you're referring to. Why not instead let the content of your post speak for you. Though you might not like what it says about you.
If the other heavyweights are nobodies, prove it and fight them.
I don't believe anything Fury says anymore and I'm annoyed because I used to cheer for him.
Yeah i like fury but i am not too invested with him i mean you cannot ever trust what he is saying, hes made enough frustrating moves like fighting chisora a 3rd time for no reason and I would never have believed it if you told me he would actually fight an MMA fighter i would have assumed that was all talk.
Who knows - maybe it's his usual whatever talk. Maybe he's honest. Or maybe he will fight any boxer for the right amount of money. I hope he boxes a little more because his talent is one of the greatest, but he wasted a big part of it. Anyway, it's on his record. But on the other hand, nobody will really care how great or bad Fury was in not more than 50 years. So in a way, he is right aiming for the money. True, this isn't 100% valid, but an open door lets you pass both ways if you get me.
this. I mean he has retired what 2-3 times already so I dont get why OP is getting emotional over his statement or taking it seriously.
Yes i want to see the Usyk fight but we will have to see. Tyson in the last two weeks was talking about making that fight, so OP is just picking and choosing which fury statements he wants to believe, you just have to see how it plays out.
If the other heavyweights are nobodies, prove it and fight them.

One of the most pathetic posts I’ve read on here and that’s saying something. The fact some fans still defend this idiot and his antics really illustrates why boxing and the HW division is an embarrassment. What other sport had the world champion refusing to fight his rivals and instead taking on somebody who had never even competed in that sport? There isn’t one.
Fury and his whole family are a stain on boxing and anybody defending him is part of the problem.
Usky will go down as a greater fighter than Fury ever will btw. A unified CW champion who stepped up to HE and won 3 belts there only being denied the chance to unify by a gypsy coward.
And the only casual here is you, if you think Fury is a champion by definition you are a casual. Stick to watching misfits.

Fury is going to feint his 0-0 opponent with his jelly belly. It will go right while he derivers a sneaky left. Fury is a joke.
Head to head on his day one of the toughest styles to beat for any fighter of any era.
What a lousy champion tho.
Everyone that celebrated when the klitschko era came to an end has egg on their faces. At least wlad dared to be great and try to break the title defence record even when there was signs of him slowing down. This guy is on a victory lap after the 2nd rematch with wilder that he had to be force to take and the whyte mandatory
I have been saying this for a long time. Fury is done. Only some idiots here admit he is still a top a heavyweight guy. he will never fight a real boxer again.
- - Blubber vs TBA TBE TUE for undefeated stakes, so who U got?
He's not cleaned out the heavyweight Division?
who's he missed who's so very important?
I really don't understand how people can still support Fury..
How can you, as a boxing fan, be happy about his behavior of not wanting to fight anyone?
Cleaned out? How can you clean out a division when most of the top 10 (who never fought you) are still publicly challenging you?
Is it ok for a fighter to get a belt and then somehow decides that no one is worthy of fighting him?
(Canelo gets a lot of stick for picking and choosing opponents but at least he deserves a lot of praise for fighting very regularly)
Apparently a quote about Usyk from his new Netflix documentary (which I am definitely not going to watch)
"If he beat me it’s like ‘Oh my god, he beat the mammoth who no one could beat!’ I’m not going to give somebody the opportunity to gain that."
He's not going to fight a opponent...because he might win.

That's some elite Hagler, Muhammad Ali-ness mentality right there....
This is actually something I heard someone say before, perhaps Usyk's promoter?
That the biggest fear of Fury is not so much Usyk but losing itself, because Fury is afraid of how he would cope mentally. Not being a champion anymore.
I have been saying this for a long time. Fury is done. Only some idiots here admit he is still a top a heavyweight guy. he will never fight a real boxer again.

eh become mandatory for joshua, travel to his hometown & beat him taking his 4 belts & beat him again in saudi
plus also being a top p4p guy in most if not all lists
They could have stripped him for fighting Ngannou. There are rules around who he can fight while he is WBC Champion.
But Suleiman chose to permit the fight and push the narrative that no-one with a ranking would fight him.
He's an embarrassment to their belt... but they accept and endorse that.
