He completely destroyed Pavlik, Tarver and Tarvoris Cloud. I didn’t expect him to
win any of those fights so watching what happened was amazing.
Dang, Tavoris Cloud. Now that’s one name I haven’t heard in a LONG time. Can’t believe the dude is 41 years old now!
His rematch with Roy Jones has to be top five worst fights in history.
What about that first bout with Dawson where he conned his way out of the fight with a fake shoulder injury lol. Bernard was a petty fighter and a scammer.
lot of hate for Hopkins, which I somewhat understand, but he's worth watching because of his ring smarts. Not the most physically gifted but he knew his business and every trick, the clean ones and dirty ones. With Naazim in his corner, they spotted weaknesses and found a lot of ways to win.
Hopkins vs Pavlik.
The Pavlik fight was good, because it showcased B-hop's experience and skill, although he was past prime- 43 to Pavlik's young 26. Unfortunately, that fight essentially ruined Pavlik's career.

He was a boring, dirty fighter. Most of his fights were like watching paint dry. Watching Cazaghe take it to him and make him eat his words and Smith knock him clear through the ropes were my favorite Hopkins moments.
Lol........

His middleweight run 95-04 was pretty boring. His two fights with Echols are unwatchable.
Strongly disagree. The second fight is ugly (but kinda fun), and the first Echols fight is like a prototype of Hopkins-Trinidad. Hopkins does incredible things as we get deeper into the rounds.
His middleweight run 95-04 was pretty boring. His two fights with Echols are unwatchable. His trilogy with Robert Allen is coma inducing. He fought very limited opposition as the champion.
It wasn't until his victory over Trinidad and De La Hoya and then his miraculous post-40 run that Hopkins really got any real accolades. In fact, the later part of his career may have been his best, beating Wright, Tarver, Pavlik, Pascal, and Shumenov.
It's because of these pointless rematches that I think his MW defense streak should have an asterisk.

90s Hopkins was pretty exciting but I dont rewatch much of his fights from the 2000s. It’s boring as sht.
I guess my favorite Hopkins fight was when he got beat by Calzaghe after talking all that sht about never losing to a white boy. He really shot himself in the foot there while looking like an idiot.
Floyd Mayweather is way more exciting to me.
