- responds immediately to any complaint or call made by Usyk
- constant warnings to Dubois for punches on the belt
- bad call for a clean legal body shot in the 5th
- Even when Usyk said hes ready kept telling Usyk to take more time, dude youre not his fuking coach you are supposed to be unbiased
- continued warnings to Dubois for further shots on the belt which are all legal shots, effectively stopping Dubios only winning strategy.
- the final stoppage Dubios made it up in 10 and could continue. He didnt even look at Dubios very much or let him walk to him talk to him or anything, immediately waved it off
- after his stoppage call, immediately runs over to Usyk to embrace and congratulate him. Youre supposed to be unbiased. If anything go look at Dubios and make sure hes ok, after all according to you he wasnt medically fit to continue the fight, where was the concern post fight?
This is all coming from a Usyk fan who had no reason to think Dubios would have any chance and wants the unification fight to happen, I have no reason to be biased here but this fight and ref stank. I hate to see boxing like this.
He probably would've beaten the count, but that body shot hurt him bad, he would not have the 5 mins to recover, a 8-9 count and back to fighting while still hurt. Either the ref was paid off or felt extreme pressure to favor Usyk due to the highly politicized event. Every time Usyk complained, the ref was all over Dubois.
he wasn't getting up, his arms were in a spasm as he was on the floor lol
He was done.
Getting ya nads rattled makes me spasm too. However, I believe that if Usyk had to beat the count, he would have.
Now look at every fight between a US fighter and a foreigner and understand what the whole world has had to endure for decades.
Most of your 'stars' are phonies who only fought at home with corrupt refs and judges. Plastic legends.
At the very least I can agree it was a legal shot and a KD, but no way can you call it a KO because you have no idea if Usyk would get up and beat the count.
At the same time to add to your latter point as controversial as this fight was I am happy Usyk won because Dubois does not have the heart of a champion.

Dubois quit. Did you see him complain at all when the fight got waved off? same sh$$ Ryan Garcia pulled vs Tank, he gave up because he was getting pummeled. Dubois also landed about 5 legit low blows, did you miss all of them?
Actually its IS the job of the ref to refuse to start a fight, or to stop a fight, or to ignore a corner throwing in a towel. He is the final judge in the ring. Some commissions allow a doctor to stop a fight, but most suggest it to the ref and the ref waves his hand.
No it shows extreme bias and the ref refusing to stop a fight after a towel thrown should have been fired. The corner stopped it. they should have just ran into the ring and then what they would be fined.
Abusing authority through technicalities to show preference for one fighter is NOT good refereeing and NOT their job.

This is what I am talking about, look at the way the ref looks and holds Usyk, its creepy

Wasn’t there a fight in the UK somewhat recently where the ref threw the towel back out of the ring and just watched dude get bludgeoned??
Stoppage was legit, but ref definitely jumped in every time Usyk wanted him to.
Question is, would he have done so for Dubois too? We don't actually know.
The first job of a referee is to protect the boxers. How many times have we seen a guy go down from a low blow, jump around for 30 seconds or so, then continue on to getting beat up or knocked out the rest of the round if he didn't take the LEGAL 5 minutes that he was entitled to. Usyk after 2 1/2 minutes said I'm ok but the ref quite legally told him to take the rest of his time. This was very good refereeing IMO.
Usyk was in there at 3 minutes 50 seconds and ref was refusing to restart the fight at Usyks request. what you are talking about and what happened are two different extremes. Ref was acting like his trainer more than the ref at this time. Trainer can shout from the corner to tell their fighter to take more time if they feel like it. Its not the ref's job to refuse to re-start the fight.
Dubois is a chinny quitter like Joshua, but that is after the bodyshot(legal!) that sent usyk down to the canvas writhing in pain. Anytime Dubois hurt Uysk to the body, Usyk would complain and the Ref was all over Dubois. Dubois should be Champion!
Yeah ref was in there taking orders from Usyk like his hired lap dog.

yeah people are saying he "could have gotten up in 10 seconds"
lmfao and look at him hes not even grabbing his balls he is grabbing his stomach. look at his belt in both pics, its way past his belly button, that means he was punched in the belly button area.

Dubois quit man, Getting up at 9.5 isn't beating the count. It's quitting. Always has been.
Telling Usyk "take more time" was bloody ridiculous though. I thought he did that because they were drying the ring or something, but nope. Slippery as ****.
did you miss the Rollie title win?
Um, watch the fight. Dubois was low in round two drawing a no no from Usyk and again in round three with a warning. In round five threw an uppercut was blow the bell line.
Dubois gave more junk and wan beaten to the punch and knocked down in round 8 and out in nine where he took the count. IMO, if he really want yo he could have beaten it.
Maybe Dubois won 2 rounds out of nine.
