Similar to what we witnessed this past weekend with Spence vs Crawford, what other very high profile fights have you lived through where the pre-fight was the definition of a 50/50 fight or the underdog then had a CRUSHING, impecable performance against another Top fighter?
Fights where most of the times people stay in denial because it wasn't supposed to be like that and public come out with excuses for the fighters not being able to barely win a round. (Weight-drained, peds, drugs, injuries, age) But prior to the fight it was all 50/50.
Off the Top of my head:
Tyson Fury VS Deontay Wilder II
Miguel Cotto VS Sergio Martinez
Floyd Mayweather VS Canelo Alvarez
Manny Pacquiao VS Oscar De La Hoya
Shane Mosley VS Antonio Margarito
Tito Trinidad VS Bernard Hopkins
50/50 prefight or under...
Canelo - Kovalev
Bivol - Canelo ( i actually had it 50-50 and a lot of people favored canelo)
Lennox - Tyson - id say boxing fans knew tyson was done but casuals thought it 50-50 atleast
Floyd - Hatton - if you were around then you would remember how many people thought Hatton would win or had a chance
Calzaghe - Jeff Lacy - i still think jeff lacy was never the same fighter after his shoulder surgery but everyone thinks its mental damage from this fight.
