I've been tapping into a lot of post fight discussions and one channel was discussing Spence's neurological state leading into and during the fight. Basically they are saying that he was compromised due to trauma from the car crash plus wear and tear from his lifestyle outside of the ring, and constant weight cuts.
As examples, they used his speech pattern changes, the look on his eyes (glassy eyes), and his lack of balance. I think it's very interesting and they also said that they think PBC and team Spence knew about his decline and tried to keep it under wraps. They even mentioned during the fight when the Doctor got into the ring after the 3rd round which seemed to be unprompted considering it was still so early into the fight which leads to believe they had a quick trigger regarding him because of what everyone in the know, knew
It's some scary shit to be honest because I really like Spence as a fighter and person so I hope if there is some measure of truth to this, that he protects his health going forward.
Great point. No more of this "marinating" BS.
That's right. Anything can happen in just a week's time. Let alone years. Accidents happen, injuries, loses, get derailed, personal issues, legal issues, etc. We also grow old and fat and have a hard time losing weight. We can't always sing, "Que sera, sera, whatever will be, will be."
It makes perfect sense when you see how he handled the style and Spence makes no adjustments, Spence is only pressure take that away and he is target practice for a guy like TC, its not the first time a guy has been destroyed because his opponent was so much better, and it wont be the last.
Honestly this forum has the worst judges of boxing Ive ever seen, and I bet its because most are relative newbies to boxing.
Yeah I was reluctant to even share this because it would seem like excuse making. However, I picked Bud to win and being aware of Spence's lifestyle and all the external factors played a part in that in addition to how damn good Bud is and the style issue he poses to someone as basic as Errol.
Now, the "Doctor" in the video said something that stuck out that gave me pause. He made a statement about when has Bud ever looked that good. It was dismissive and sounded like a jilted Spence fan or someone that isn't a fan of Bud.
I think it's a culmination of many of the things that we all know and shit, Bud knew! Someone mentioned to me that Spence may have had performance anxiety prior to the fight which is why he looked off to people. I don't know enough about performance anxiety and the symptoms but there was a look or worry in his eyes like he wasn't sure he was ready for the moment. Again, it doesn't have to be a singular thing and just to be clear, Bud beats ANY version of Errol.
Its easy to look for things after the fact, that's the whole point, Spence has always shown to be a little chinny only he was faced with a sharp shooting power puncher in TC and people assume there is something wrong because he was destroyed, there may be but let's wait for brain scans etc to see what is real before assumptions are used to diminish Crawfords performance.
Fair enough. For me, personally, it takes nothing away from Crawford's performance. His style and skill level takes Errol to school regardless.
I feel like Spence would still be competitive vs just about everyone else in the division, except maybe Boots.
Look at the difference in how his face looked vs Ugas...and I'm not talking about after his face got hammered by Crawford, I'm talking about before the bell rang.

Got a different haircut too, might have been scared shtless of TC when the spotlight was turned on, might not have slept well the night before and had negative thoughts creeping in, there is so many little unseen tangibles that can have a major effect on performance, this is why its so hard to see from the outside exactly where the fighter is on the night and there is nothing you can do about it, the show must go on and it can easily end the way this did, people are too eager to find a reason that makes sense to what they know, so we get all sorts of things getting thrown left right and centre and for the most part it is only taking away from the win.

A total difference

These aren't excuses as to why he lost, but the circumstances surrounding how badly it all went. If you think none of this was discussed leading up to the fight, then you weren't paying attention.
The Ugas fight and how easily he was able to hurt Errol was used constantly by Crawford fans as to why Bud would knock Errol out.
Bud beat Errol. Bud is better than Errol. This thread isn't about that. It's about Spence's health.

No...the accident was in October 2019 and he fought Ugas April 2022.
There was another accident in December 2022

If you think about it, Spence was probably Crawford's easiest fight, and that does not make sense. I’m not saying that Crawford wasn't going to win...just not so easily.

He beat Danny Garcia and Yordenis Ugas convincingly after the car wreck.
C level fighters, spence was damaged goods and was not ready for A level comp and will never be.
Just add it to the excuse list that wasn't there an hour before the fight, I wonder if Fulton has a list like the growing list for Errol, I bet if his fight was in the US Inoue would be hearing a bunch of excuses as well, sometimes the other guy is that much better, put a racehorse in with a pony and he wins by a mile because his legs are longer this is the mentality of fans, TC been getting everyone outa there its not like Errol is his first stoppage.

He got into two more car accidents since then...that's what most people don't know...
I know he got rear ended 3 months after the first, but he wasn't hurt.
yall seriously couldn't tell he sounded punch drunk in his first appearance after the crash? most of you said he always sounds like that and then they said it was his teeth. I knew what the fuk I was hearing.
You're absolutely right. After the car accident, he had an interview at a Showtime fight. I said that night on boxingscene he sounded bad. People were trying to say it was his new teeth or that he always sounds like that. We knew better.

Agree. Just look at Ali-Holmes for the cruelest example. This was a huge fight with a lot of money on the table, they would easily cover up any health issues for the show to go on and everyone to get their piece of this huge pie.
Ali literally had trouble touching his nose in the physical. Ultimately, it was his decision but fighters will fight so they need to be saved from themselves sometimes. Spence would've died in that ring on Saturday before quitting.
Theres some interesting info in there, but also a lot of wrong stuff.
Spence has never used latteral movement for defense. There are youtube vids breaking down this, prefight, and plenty have noted Spence always moves in a straight line when he backs up.
I enjoyed the vid a lot, but its conjecture. This doc hasnt seen, tested, or diagnosed Spence.
Spence looked like his old dominant self in all the fights post accident. His toughest fight was before the accident in fact. If he was so compromised how did he stop Ugas?
he got rocked against ugas and he got into car accident after the ugas fight
