if it was a 15 round champion ship fight (which was what they were in Haglers day) Hagler wins Late KO.if 12 th round champion ship fight Hagler wins decision.
hagler biggest wins were against wealter weights but they were against p4p greats what bigger names could some one beat in boxers like hearns, duran, john magabi & leonard who i think hagler beat.hagler also fought big full fledge md of the older generation back in the mid 1970s before he won the belt. Hearn's who is considered the hardest ww puncher of all time & at 154 ko the legendary duran & put him to sleep with one punch, hearns who is the only boxer i have ever seen actually hurt hagler but after hagler started to warm up he started to walk through those right hands & stop hearns in 3rd round in what ring magazine calls the greatest middle weight fight of all time.if a prime hagler fought a prime ggg in a 15 round championship fight which is what hagler was use to fighting hagler stops ggg late in the fight.in a 12th round fight hagler wins decision maybe 11th-12th round ko. If ggg fights hearns hearns ko ggg 3rd-4th round. it's hard to tell because ggg never fought the top elite boxers that hagler fought. Thats not to put ggg down he just fought in a era of mw where there were no big names around until alvarez moved up from 154 to fight him & believe their first fight was a draw but second fight alvarez won. He could have proven himself by beating a great warrior in alvarez but failed.

Hagler and ggg should not be put in the same sentence. Hagler fought everyone, was more consistent and was more assertive no matter who he fought. ggg fights scared when the opponent is tougher than the bums he beat. hagler would destroy ggg and ggg does not have the stamina to go 15 rounds.
GGG is way better than you think, and 15 rounds means little because its about pace, the landscape would be the same whether 12 or 15 rounds, remember they used to fight 20/30/40 rounds did they have more stamina, no they did nothing for a long time.

Yes, Duran was haglers equal for much of fight, should a ATG lightweight be a ATG middleweights equal? Maybe GGG would have taken care of business a bit more convincingly?
Would be totally different because Marvin was known to coast when out boxing opponents if you tried to take Hagler out you had a whole different animal, GGG would have evoked the nasty side of Marvin, Duran was easily outboxed.
Golovkin lost to a welterweight. Twice

jacobs was 30. Ggg was 35. 5 years is huge in boxing. Especially when you turn 35. And it was a ud. Barely won would be a sd.
You are putting a good middle weight (GGG) up against one of the greatest MW of all time in Hagler. The only MW that i have above Hagler is P4P king Ray Robinson Besides the king Hagler is thee greatest MW of all time.Hagler beat other P4P greats in Hearns,Duran Hard punching John the beast Magabi 26 0 0 26 KO. & at 32 years old fighting his last fight against 30 year old leonard who i had 115-113 for Hagler. Hagler also beat some big middle weights of the older generations before he won the belt.Hagler could go from south paw to orthadox in blink of an eye & had good power in both hands & by the 10th round would have you busted up from the inside out.
No, im.Just saying if GGG fought a former lightweight ggg might be criticised for it. But if GGG didn't beat Duran very convincingly ggg would be criticised quite badly
Duran is top 5 p4p all time I seriously doubt it fam but its all good
.....if ggg was Duran's equal I could fathom it but imo I don't think so

Hagler in an absolute WAR
I wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't a split decision or even a draw.
Many people in this day & age (Canelo & PBC stans) underrate GGG.
Dude had an all-time great chin, so Hagler's not stopping him
He's got an all-time great jab, so it'd be a war.
But Hagler's got the chin, jab, and is just a little bit a better athlete and a just a tad meaner, so I'm gong with him.
Duran?

Talking about fantasy fights is clown shit.
You take a fighter from one era and have him raised in another, he'd be a completely different fighter - different trainer, different nutrition, different training techniques, different drug testing, etc.
Two guys who most people miss out on their primes. G's prime was 2010-15, before most of the fights people here are mentioning. Heck, by the time he fought Canelo & Derevy he was late 30s, Hagler was retired by his late 30s. So to judge GGG by those late career fights is as asinine as judging Ali by the Holmes fight.
Hagler to a similar extent gets his prime misread by many; people see the War with Hearns and don't realize that was his third to last fight, and not really indicative of what he was in his prime. Prime Hagler was a virtuoso and maybe the most well rounded fighter ever.
I like both these guys, and I think G catches a lot of undue flak for those who judge him on his late career fights or his failure to secure big names early on. That being written, he's just not on Hagler's level. Hagler is Mt. Rushmore of middleweights, G is a worthy HOFer, but about two steps down from Hagler. Stylistically, G doesn't make up the talent difference; prime Hagler sticks and moves too well for him, and even when he cuts him off (which prime G did very well) its not like he's gonna KO Hagler.
That being written, G has a world class chin as well, and Hagler doesn't need all that punishment to chase the KO. So Hagler wins this fight more often than not in a 8-4 or 7-5 range. No insult to either men, both greats.
Hagler by late stoppage.
GGG best 3 opponents all went the distance. Canelo, jacobs, dereavychencko. So the power is normal when he's being pushed back.
Hagler is a different animal than all of them.
Golovkin lost to Canelo. He never beat him. Jacobs was nearly as old as Golovkin and Golovkin barely beat him. So age was not a factor. Nice try but you can't rewrite history.
Name one fighter going to the hall of fame that Golovkin has beaten. I'll wait.
What are you talking about? Jacobs was 30, much younger than Golovkin.
I won't bother telling you tank GGG was robed vs Canelo, but the forum may value this:
