Hey guys, I'm honestly shocked the lack of awareness in the general people who have absolutely no clue who Crawford or Errol are. Within the past 3 weeks, I've brought up the fight in various conversations to co-workers, people at my gym, and not one person knew who they were. I even asked one dude who came over my house for the Ryan Garcia-Tank fight and he said he was just a casual, lol. While I'm Okay that he was honest and admit that and the reason he didn't know Errol-Crawford, the fact that he did know Garcia and Tank enough to drive over a few towns away to watch the fight at my place, he had no clue who Errol and Crawford were, lol. You would think at some point watching maybe Garcia-Tank promo information that Crawford-Spence might of came up for their own respective fights at that time. Nada apparently.
My general point here is, if this fight is truly lacking the casuals support, I'm not sure it's going to hit big numbers. Casuals knew Pac-Fraud Jr. and paid up for it. If this is truly a fight for the fight fans, it won't crack big numbers. I'd think it would be lucky if it hit a mill.
That's the thing I still see these days. You tell any casual about an upcoming boxing fight, and they still refer back to the Tyson days, lol. My thing is, if you don't have these streaming services, boxing is almost non-existent nowadays on regular cable. You basically have to SEEK it out, rather than it finding you. This is hurting the sport, since the young kids are seeking out MMA more so nowadays and the super casuals just don't care at all to try to watch something that is hard to get to (unless you rewatch fights on Youtube).
Can attest to this, Mike Tyson is the only thing that comes up when talking to a non hardcore fan about boxing.
From all the streaming services, various networks (BT Sport, Sky, PBC, DAZN...) that only cause confusion, the multitude of belts, the lack of title fights a year, the awful promotions with no heat or rivalry, the almost decade long wait for top contenders to fight...mainstream audiences just don't follow anything beyond a popular HW title.
Seriously, my kids know all about fighters before their time from playing Fight Night Champion and then watching their amazing fights on YouTube for free. They couldn't even tell you who the current HW champion is let alone who Spence and Crawford are.

By rights, this ought to sell better than Ngannou v Fury. Will be a good litmus test for the health of boxing. Frankly, boxing NEEDS the casuals. Turning boxing into an elitist club full of people who don't actually know anything about the sweet science certainly hasn't been GOOD for boxing.
PBC was created 8 years ago you dumbass :lol1:
If Ryan is a bigger draw than Tank then why don't the numbers prove it? Why are his gates significantly less than Tank's and Spence's? Why didn't Ryan fight on PPV before? Why will Ryan still do less numbers than Tank in the future? Why?
If Ryan was the bigger draw then the numbers would show it, are you really this stupid? Holy ****
Haymon was managing fighters since 2000 you mouthbreathing troglodyte. Lol.
Tank’s highest PPV prior to Ryan was 200K. It was Ryan who got them to 4x that. Tank will now duck Haney, Shakur, Loma and Teo. Let’s see if he can stay out of jail for the remainder of 2023, lol.
PPV is where the money is at, and Tank didn't do shyt on PPV until he faced Garcia. That was why he cherry-picked and weight drained him to begin with. Tank has one major endorsement deal with Under Armour, Garcia has multiple deals with Gatorade, 1800 Tequila, Dior, and other brands. Tank would be more marketable if he wasn't a thuggish woman beater, LOL.
Why cut it off at 8 years? GBP orchestrated the careers of Canelo and Garcia. Bigger than anything PBC ever did. The Charlo's are still fighting for peanuts. Wilder didn't see more than a million dollars with 39 fights until he got in the ring with Fury. Thurman didn't see more than $2 million until he fought Pac. Porter and Danny Garcia were barely scraping by until the end of their career. GTFOH with your fanboy obsession with PBC, dick-rider.

Tank's biggest gate before fighting Ryan = $5 million. Ryan's biggest gate before fighting Tank = $1.5 million. So you are obviously wrong.
Can you name any name that Top Rank or Goldenboy has created these past 8 years who are as big as Tank and Spence.
I'll wait you idiot. LMAO! :lol1:

I never made that argument dumbass I was just pointing out how stank isn't some megastar you make em out to be. But yeah he drew 1mil buys by himself
Tank is only getting bigger and he's already a top 2 draw in the US :lol1:
You incels act like Ryan is a bigger name than Tank but he wasn't before the fight and won't be after. Sorry to break it to you
Yes growing his audience while remaining at 200k lmfao what a dumbass. Thanks for proving how stupid you are
You're too stupid to realize that that was a tweet from Dan Rafael back in 2022 :lol1:
If I'm the stupid one then why haven't you or that other incel been able to name anyone that Top Rank or Goldenboy have developed that have done more numbers than Tank or Spence?
It's time to show and prove, idiot. Can you do it?
Ok then link the two before he fought Ryan. Didn't crack 250k and all of a sudden he gets 1mil lmfao he did it himself doe
That boy ain't ever getting 1mil again. He'll go back to his usual 200k numbers
Here is Tank vs H Garcia for example = https://www.boxingscene.com/gervonta-davis-hector-luis-garcia-ppv-buy-rate-come-between-200k-225k--171917
and then the rest
Dan Rafael @DanRafael1
1h
For those who keep asking about
@Gervontaa
's PPVs: 1. Rolly Romero will be about 275k 2. Santa Cruz between 200k-225k 3. Barrios 210k-215k 4. Pitbull Cruz touch over 200k Tank is consistent & growing his audience. He's generating way more $ than a license fee would cover. #boxing
What was Ryan's highest gate and PPV number before fighting Tank? I'll wait
Your so fvkcing stupid. Stank only reach the 1mil mark BECAUSE of Ryan. What were his ppv numbers before Ryan? Dude never even cracked 500k barely even 300k and the last two before Ryan bombed so hard they didn't even release the numbers. But yeah he's a star and drew the 1mil himself lmao he'll never see 1mil again
Thanks for displaying how dumb you are...If Ryan was as big of a draw as Tank, then why was his highest gate only 1.5 million and why was Tank's $5 million? You guys act like Tank's fights flop but his fight vs Isaac Cruz for example did over double the gate than Ryan's highest ever gate. All of Tank's numbers have been released by the way.
Tank was bigger than Ryan before the fight and will be even bigger after.
Can you name someone that Top Rank or Golden Boy has developed over the past 8 years that are bigger than Tank and Spence? I'm still waiting
Tank the bum-slayer wasn't doing shyt until he fought Garcia, Ryan was the draw every bit as much as Tank in that fight.
Spence? His best PPV averages around 350K buys, LMAO!
Crawl back into your troll-hole clown.

Tank and Spence are 2 of the 3 biggest draws in the US you incel
Has Top Rank or Golden Boy been able to create anyone bigger than those two in the past 8 years? I'll wait

Why do boxing fans care if a fight does good payper view numbers? Just shut the **** up and watch
Hey dude, I'm normally the one who says this in all of these type of threads, but I think you missed what I was getting at with this. Mostly regarding, if there is a lack of success with this, it will give promoters an excuse to continue having their fighters avoid the best and risk having their marquee fighter take the "L", when they can remain undefeated and continue to fight stiffs for decent paychecks. Why the risk if there is no rewards?
That is where I think this fight is going to be under a magnifying glass when it comes to promoters with their undefeated fighters and their willingness to put them in against equal opposition that can risk taking away their fighters "0". The magical "0" that comes with better paychecks and sh!t competition.
I,ll go out on a limb I think its going to do well for the period we are in, be better if they were more reasonable with the price but the way the arena sold out in a day indicates it should do ok, I believe there is a floating million buyers of boxing for the really big ones and I just think this might get close, hope it does the more the better for boxing.
Imo , the fight will live up to expectations
That’s pretty much what I give a fugh about
You can bring the horse to the well but you can’t force him to drink
Same goes for the casuals
It’s hard to respect a sport that doesn’t respect itself
In the previous era both these guys would have been built up by the HBO machine and they would have done an easy 1 million plus buys.
Now most sports fans have never heard of Crawford and Spence isn’t much of a bigger name.
