Is that a good idea though? Without rehydrating properly any punch that can cause brain damage can be life threatening and they won't be perform at full capacity. Meaning they will struggle even further to defend themselves.

I personally believe he lost fights due to his conditioning being negatively effected by his weight draining tactics 'He has admitted this himself' etc
Well yeah I agree, this strategy is unhealthy and will affect the fighters negatively long term. They will likely have less of a pain threshold/durability, reflexes and have a lower punch output. Once they move up, they have to face opponents at their athletic prime and readjust their style that is tailored to fight smaller opponents.
It's one of the reasons why modern professional boxers are getting dramatically worn down despite only fighting 1-2 times a year. Along with over excessive long training camps.

I think weight gain wasn't an issue until Arturo Gatti gained like 21lbs overnight to face Joey Gamache and almost killed him. I believe after that fight, they said you can't gain more than 17lbs? Not sure the official ruling.

Manny would do 15lbs as a 130 fighter and he is 5 inches shorter than Josh, from 10 to 15 pounds is about the average elite guys will gain when fighting at their lightest weight, guys that push the limits can gain 15 to 25 pounds, when they weigh in they are totally empty of excess fluid, no half baked turd juice, not a drop of urine, no stomach content and water deprived thick blood, they gain a lot of weight in these areas first that's why they can gain really quick then it slows right down as the blood fluid balance takes longer to be absorbed, Josh may gain only a few more pounds from that video which in the range 140 guys do, below 160 they really draw themselves down and do big gains, its pretty easy to go from 130 to 147 because they around 147 on fight night with 130 weigh-ins.

tank davis also puts on 10 pounds at lightweight which i presume is actually about average for 135, i think 10 pounds for 160 is a bit smaller than average actually if tank is putting on 10 at 135 and hes considered a small guy but maybe hes not, hes probable average for 135 actually
