Jermall opens up about his recent mental health struggles in this snippet. After watching this I really feel he should take whatever time he needs to get his mind right. I appreciate him being vulnerable for the people to see.
The whole interview is about an hour and a half. I'm about halfway through. Ya'll should check it out if you got the time.
That's why it's never a good idea to treat grown ass men like they're babies. They lose grit, momentum; it makes them hesitant to take tough fights because they're indoctrinated into believing losing once is instant career death, instead of seeing it as a test and part of the training and can always bounce back stronger with added benefit of gaining experience from the loss.
Losing once is such a horrible thing in the sport of boxing.
In this day and age, losing once is horrible. When you lose, your next fight might be two years later.
Unless you're some PPV star or a media darling like Ryan Garcia or Jake Paul.

It's very sad and unfortunate that Jermall Charlo is not mentally fit to fight at this time. These guys are getting constantly punched in the head for a living. No one really knows what effect that it has on the brain.
Given the state of concussions and it's protocol; All lead me to believe that this stigma of mental health is real. However, I still believe that most of the time it's all bullshit. However, in this case I believe it is real.
Why would fans want him back in the ring now that he has all these excuses?
2 years long layoff, mental issue, personal issue, wife issue, back problems, you name it.
Fans would rather see him fight a long list of cab drivers to get him back on track.
That is if he wants to return.
Ryan Garcia didn't stall any fight as he was not holding any belt.
All this Jermall fella has to do is vacate the belt and let others fight for it.
He can take his time all he wants and get medical attention.
Unless you were born with mental health issues or experienced something truly traumatic, all this Mental Health BS stems from Social Media. Most of these dudes like Ryan Garcia and Charlo cheat on their babies mama then get busted then cry mental health.
There shouldnt be a promising male athlete under 30 in a serious relationship or having kids.
Thanks Dr. Phil.
