Everybody is coming down hard on De La Hoya and Hopkins for totally abandoning Garcia and rightfully so, but the biggest criticism should be reserved for Joe Goossen.
A lot of fighters and their coaches get humiliated after talking big in the build up but they all show up at the post fight press conference and will also answer all questions days after the fight from every reporter.
Coach Bullet showed up after Rolly got knocked out and Glenn Rushton showed up after Crawford humiliated Jeff Horn.
We've have heard from everyone by now. Both De La Hoya and Hopkins gave total nonsense reactions but at least there was a reaction.
I have NEVER seen a coach do a total disappearing act like this. Absolutely unbelievable and disgraceful.
I don't know, should we be worried? Maybe someone should check the bathrooms at the T-Mobile Arena. He could still be there.
Word is Ryan wouldn't show up to the gym he would miss a lot so goosen was already pissed. When Joe would call him Ryan would day he's training at home with his dad. Is all you have to know.
Ryan had one foot out the door already he's done with boxing.
I seen 2 different videos of Ryan training in his socks with his brother.
Exactly.
Ryan came out in the 2nd rd like it was the 12th and he was behind in the cards. Lol
But that's why we all called his lack of experience to be his downfall.
I also saw it as him trying to manifest his prediction over the last two years. I know he’s big on visualization. So I believe him when he said he saw himself knocking out Tank in the second round. I think he came out in round two and forced it. You can visualize something, but you have to also visualize other possibilities. Like getting KO’d lol.
Probably wasn't in the correct state of mind to wanting to be answering questions from the presser. Same goes with DLH. Can you imagine the questions they would've asked him, and he had to answer them?
They probably couldn't be bothered nor to even care, because of such disappointment I believe.
You do have a point though, Goossen was his trainer and major part of his team lead up to the fight - he should've been there regardless of the situation, win or lose. Be there with his fighter.
Goosen is also a motivator. Hear his speeches in the corner. He should had been there and say I believe in my fighter but Tank is talented, the better man tonight, etc.
Ryan Garcia reaction to interview De La Hoya. This could mean he is really thinking of leaving..
(Seems he hasn't spoken to Goossen since the fight also)

Trainer has no obligations once the fight is over. Seeing your fighter take a loss is a personal thing.
Who are you to demand he come and answer questions? You're a loser and weirdo.
That last sentence, where the hell does that come from?
Throwing insults because of a simple question of "where is the coach", that everyone has been thinking and saying? Really bizarre.
Someone is taking this very personal, you must at least be related
I think you fit your own insult perfectly.
The trainer has no obligations once the fight is over...not even to his fighter apparently. Biggest fight and loss of his career and he sends his 24-fighter to face the world press with his parents.
After the fight I couldn't help but remember Goosen talk so much about Ryan's power during the prefight showdowns and interviews. It's like he didn't think anything else mattered. Like, all Garcia needed was to punch hard. That was embarrassing talk, especially for a supposed world class trainer. In hindsight he looks like the biggest fool from Ryan's team. Garcia is just a stupid, naive kid, so I can't blame him as much as Goosen.
Lmfao what traps?
lol that is so funny , you know sweet fck all, lol what traps lol.
This might help you out Davis does it all the time like a spider to the fly, come close come closer boom.

Ryan was not stalked at all. He was chasing stanks. Man your running your mouth alot for someone who's guy he was rooting for put all kinds of restrictions on. Stfu
You run your mouth all the time wtf lol, setting traps is stalking lol how come you don't know that.

kind of but when he was stopped he was being chased down
I was actually disappointed in goosen. They literally just relied on Ryan's left hook like idiots. You'd think a veteran trainer would show him how to set it up or throw a straight right
well yeah a left hook against a southpaw, not the best thing to have as your only punch, they had no plan B and no right hand which they needed for a skilled southpaw.
Garcia has made too much money early in his career without having done much inside the ring. He doesnt strike me as somebody whose going to bounce back from this either cuz his heart is not fully in it.

The bottom line is Ryan wasn't good enough, he was not thinking about winning he was thinking oh sh what am I doing here being stalked by a predator, Goosens a good trainer but on the night its up to the fighter.
No different to all the fighters that move around trainers after a bad showing, they are looking for silver bullets when the problem is them.

Ryan was the actual guy in the ring enduring physical harm and humiliation yet he manned up and faced everyone at the presser. Goosen and DLH couldn’t bother to show up for the kid after leaching money from him. Like many have said, had Ryan won you can bet anything they would’ve been in full force at the presser giving hundreds of interviews.
I agree, it’s BORING but the key isn’t to force a KO. The opportunity will happen. You just have to stay FOCUSED.
Most guys can’t stay focused. Ryan is one of them. He wants INSTANT results. You cant do that with tank. By the way. Tank doesn’t force a KO. He waits for you to give it to him.
Exactly.

When watching the fight I seen Ryan could have kept it on the outside arguably the whole fight with his jab and straight right and occasional check hook. But Ryan and most Latino fighters don't like that they are their for a fight win or lose. Look at guys like Keyshawn Davis that mofo it happy just sparring for 10 rds doing absolutely nothing else but jab hold rinse and repeat. It's atrocious and the exact style that has put boxing in a coma for the last couple decades.
Facts!

Garcia made an interesting comment that no one is mentioning. He said, “I should of kept it boring”. That was my thought too meaning to just jab and be defensive minded and just out point him the whole night. Never look for the knock out. I believe that was Goosens plan cause that made the most sense due to Garcias height, reach and quick left hand.
