I’ve waited a while to make this thread because I was very sceptical about this fight actually happening.
Massive credit to Oscar, Haymon, Showtime, DAZN and most importantly the two fighters themselves.
It’s been a very long time since I can remember two young stars fighting in their mid 20’s. It’s so refreshing to see man. Takes me back to Ray and Tommy fighting in 81 when they were 25 and 22 respectively.
These are the sort of matchups us older heads on here grew up watching and is what made us lifelong fans of the sport. Let’s hope this fight really delivers tonight- I actually think it will too. :boxing:
AJ and Usyk have fought each other twice. Fury and Wilder haven't fought either of them. That's all anybody needs to know.
Usyk wasn’t even in the conversation until 2021 you little weasel. :lol1:
It’s been Fury, Wilder and AJ since about 2015/2016. Fury and Wilder fought three times the other fought neither and that really hurts you doesn’t it?
Pathetic little fanboy.
So you admit you’re desperate to insert AJ/Hearn into the conversation.
Pathetic little fanboy.
How often do two rival promoters and two rival networks work together to make a massive fight happen?
When was the last time two undefeated young stars fought in their 20’s?

You GTFOH you silly c***. If you can’t appreciate Tank-Garcia you’re clearly not a boxing fan.
Tank and Garcia have only fought each other once though.
If they fight each other 3 times in 3 years, without fighting any of the other top guys in their divisions, and Tank beats Garcia every time, they will become the best in their era and possible ATGs.
So it’s 5th all time IYO?
That’s still one of the best HW trilogies ever.
Well there aren't that many at the top level to rate.
By that rationale, Fury v Chisora is probably top 10. Doesn't make it great.
Nah...you really have to give the credit to Ryan here. Let's not act like Tank and company really wanted this fight. They threw every roadblock known to man in attempt to sway Ryan from accepting. He had been calling for this fight for 2 years while taking the criticism of it being full of hot air, only to accept all the ridiculously stipulations, ones we know 99% of every other boxer on the planet would've turned down,....and shut all his doubters up by making it happen.
Why are you ducking me? Pay what you owe, you coward.
Ali-Norton was a proper trilogy 1-0, 1-1, 2-1. Patterson-Johansson did the same.
I'm not sure what makes the Fury-Wilder trilogy great. First fight was good. Second was a demolition. Third was great fun but, barring the occasional wild swing from Wilder, he was pretty badly beaten up again.
Good fun. Not a great trilogy.
When you get past the handful of great trilogies in the heavyweights and move down the weight classes you see what a great trilogy looks like. It's not just fighting three times.

It produced far more exciting fights than Ali-Norton. That’s an overrated trilogy IMO.
Aside from Ali-Frazier and Bowe-Holyfield what HW trilogies do you rank above if?

It was a bit of fun in a time of little fun.
I can't rank it that highly when Fury probably won the first, dominated the second, and yet we got a third that only Wilder wanted where the obvious winner clearly won again. Yes the third fight was an enjoyable watch, but it was never a great rivalry. It was a one sided trilogy between an elite fighter and a decent dance partner who couldn't win - a trick Fury repeated last year.

I'll talk about whatever I like, wherever I like, ok?
If you want people to stick to the topic of your thread, make it a topic worth talking about.
"I think we need to give credit to boxers for having a boxing match .."
Really? GTFOH with that shit.
So you admit you’re desperate to insert AJ/Hearn into the conversation.

Exactly. The Fury/Wilder rivalry didn't need a trilogy. It was settled decisively in the 2nd fight.
As a Fury fan, I didn't enjoy seeing him turn up looking flabby and out of condition for the trilogy, and almost lose to a guy who wasn't even on the same level as him, simply because his heart wasn't in the fight.
As a Fury fan, I enjoyed his disgraceful duck of Usyk even less, but that's another story.
It was a one of the best HW trilogies of all time. Stay salty though…
Of course I wanted the undisputed fight to happen you weirdo. You’re the guy revelling in the fact Fury-Usyk didn’t happen because on your warped little mind it somehow gives some misguided credit to AJ/Hearn. Look at your sig for gods sake, that’s how pathetic you are.
And no I won’t give a promoter credit for negotiating a fight that didn’t happen. Do you not realise how stupid that is?You really are thick as pigsh**. :lol1:
Again, why are you bringing this up in a Tank-Garcia thread? It’s so pathetic that this is how desperate you are to insert AJ/Hearn into the conversation.

You’re entitled to your opinion but i think the 3rd fight was the best one and I’m glad it happened i actually thought Wilder might take Fury out especially after the 4th round/2nd knockdown the look on Furys face looked like he was ready to give up i was worried and made it a very suspenseful fight. Besides not like Fury had much choice considering he didn’t even want the 3rd fight but was forced through the courts so can’t blame Fury for that.

There was no need for a trilogy after Fury dominated and stopped Wilder in the second fight.
And that pointless trilogy fight, which Fury didn't even bother training for, prevented a much bigger and more important fight from happening - the undisputed HW title fight between Fury and AJ.
I get it, you didn't want the undisputed fight to happen because it would have been promoted by Eddie Hearn and you were scared shitless that AJ might win it. Pathetic losers like you, masquerading as boxing fans, who celebrate when big fights don't happen, are the reason why boxing is only a shadow of the sport it used to be.

For drama and excitement, it is up there with the best.
But for the quality of the action - apart from Fury's performance in the second fight - it was pretty poor, tbh.
And for historical/legacy importance, there was only ever 1 belt out 4 on the line, so it can't compare with, eg, the Ali/Frazier trilogy, where the winner was the undisputed king of the HW division.
So you admit it is one of the best HW trilogies ever. Cool.
So what, dickhead?
The reason for that had nothing to do with the deal Eddie made .. the deal that was publicly accepted by both sides.
Bob Arum lied about the Fury/Wilder rematch clause. Was that Eddie Hearn's fault?
So the deal was obviously never completed you thick c***. :lol1:
You don’t agree it’s one of the best HW trilogies?
