I am not talking about skill level. Beating Morrell wouldn't be so effective on Canelo's ATG rank.
Bivol and Beterbiev would. Skill+belts matter.
Oh I agree.. those are the biggest fights. But not necessarily the best in my eyes. Bivol-Beterbiev needs to happen this year.. Beterbiev is 39 next year.. those dudes are gonna be extinct soon.
Well none of us know what the future holds. If Morrell goes on to be the best in the division and have a better career than Benavidez (which is possible) it’d definitely boost Canelo’s ATG rank. I don’t think Canelo beats either guy though, the task at hand is a little too big.
Morrell ain't legacy fight. He is 9-0 dangerous prospect.
Nahh.. he’s about the same level as rest of the 168 pound contenders who haven’t really beaten anyone.
Legacy: Canelo vs Bivol 2, Canelo vs Beterbiev, Inoue vs Fulton, Fury vs Usyk
Fun: Fury vs Joshua, Wilder vs Joshua, Canelo vs Bumavidez
Chess match: Canelo vs Bivol 2, Haney vs Loma
Canelo-Berb? That’s a super mismatch! Canelo-Bivol is another one sided fight too. Canelo - Benavidez, Canelo - Morrell way better fights.
I don’t know about best but I really want to see Artur and Bivol before Artur is too far past it. Tank and Ryan should be one hell of a scrap as well. Obviously, everyone wants to see Bud and Spence before that turns into the next Mayweather vs Pac. The Monster’s next fight should be intriguing as well.
Losing interest, Beterbiev is 39 years old next year
some replies here are very strange :D
obviously long overdue Crawford vs Spence, there is great mix and match Loma - Haney vs Tank- Garcia at 135, same at heavyweight Usyk - Fury vs AJ - Wilder and all the mandatories, Beterbiev vs Bivol... Middleweight is kind of dead right now
Fury vs Usyk, and Crawford vs Spence Junior.
These are the best fights to make.
If you are referring to the best in just wanting to see a brawl? Then of course there are always plenty of domestic fights which produce that sort of action.
The higher the level of boxing, usually the more technical and less overtly aggressive fighters become 'Because the biggest game winnings assets are usually influenced by tactics, overall conditioning instead of just blasting opponents out'.
At World and elite level all fighters are sophisticated, even if typically their style is not described as such 'All brawlers, pressure fighters, boxer punchers, ambush fighters they all operate with a high level of sophistication and skill'.
I don't know how anyone could think it wouldn't be the fight that determines the Undisputed Heavyweight Champion.
It's there to be made as well. Not often that opportunity comes around.
I have zero hope. Fury is too much of ego.
I have my doubts if Fury ever fights a dangerous contender even. I will be surprised if he fights Ruiz/Zhang/Hrgovic alike guy next.

Dont even know at this point tbh. Bud/Spence is years past its best now and I doubt either are in their prime anymore. Same for anything involving Fury, Usyk, AJ and Wilder facing each other. Although from a commercial perspective they're all still the biggest fights by a lot.
