Wilder beat an undefeated top 5 universally ranked Ortiz.
He also made 10 defences of the HW title and gave the best HW in the World more trouble than any other HW has.
You keep crying though…
You are full of double standards.
I don`t give a sh.it about Wilder beating guys like Szpilka, Duhaupas, Arreola, Washington...for WBC belt, do you understand?
And when he faced the first good boxer he was beaten like a dog.
Ruiz beat AJ. That is better than anything Wilder has ever done.
A bit of a stretch. AJ was undefeated. Ruiz won by KO. Since then AJ has only lost to Usyk. That win should still carry some weight.
Parker win is ok, but he wasnt higher than AJ or Ortiz.
All Im saying.
Is it really relevant after nearly 4 years though? Especially when all doubt was erased by a one sided rematch. If we were ranking then all time, I’d agree with you but I don’t think one win 4 years ago holds that much weight in the current rankings.
Parker was definitely higher than the Ortiz that Ruiz scraped a decision against. I give Wilder a lot of credit for beating Ortiz back in 2018, when he was legit top 5 HW but the Ortiz that Ruiz fought was absolutely shot to pieces. Charles Martin was bouncing him off the canvas, Ortiz’s punch resistance has completely gone, he’s completely shot.
I really wanted to see Wilder-Ruiz tbh because I’m pretty confident Wilder just decapitates him in 3 rounds and puts this Ruiz myth to bed.
Joyce recently destroyed Parker, who was a legit top 10 HW. Not a great win but definitely a good win.
Ruiz hasn’t done anything impressive for nearly 4 years and he never did anything impressive prior to the AJ win.
It’s like still rating Jeff Horn because he beat Pac or Sadam Ali cause he beat Cotto.

I agree with this as well. In doing so, imo, he remains above Joe Joyce until such time as Joyce gets an Usyk/Fury/AJ/Wilder win.

I just think that one win is an outlier. I think he was the right guy, in the right place at the right time.

He might. But he hasnt. AJ was supposed to do same.
Im fine with your opinion. But quality of win has to factor in at some point.

But Wilder is a serial killer. because he beat Ortiz and lost to Fury three times.

Why do I keep seeing domestic level fighters being sold as better than world level fighters? Sanchez beats up grandpas and local tough guys at the moment. Ruiz was a world champion. Respect the levels.
People also put far too much stock into one win. Especially when that said win is a complete outlier on their resume.
Ruiz was a complete fluke, he’s terrible, as others have mentioned dropped by shot Arreola, arguably lost to a way past his prime Ortiz.
Like how he brutally knocked out Chisora, Wallin, and Pianeta? For all the shots he landed against Chisora 3, Chisora never once went down.
Fury was playing with Chisora and could've ended it whenever he wanted to, plus Chisora is a big tough unit.
Did Fury find his balls and sign the contract or is he planning to hit Usyk behind the head with a club to stop him from further owning him on Twitter?

Fury let off on Chisora because he would have broke his hands if he kept caving his skull in...and he would have seriously hurt him. Fury is not deadly because of his 1 hitter quitter power he's deadly because he'll sustain a beating.
Ruiz is sh**. A C level fighter who got lucky. Joyce would murder him man.
I genuinely don’t even consider him a top 10 HW. I reckon an up and coming guy like Frank Sanchez would box his ears off.

Yes he is. He beat AJ. Then lost. Beat Ortiz.
You are one that thinks AJ is better than Wilder. Therefore that win has to count for something.

If it happens which I’m still skeptical about tbh, I’ll be rooting for Usyk. Been a Fury fan for years but I’m a big Usyk fan too and I hate the kind of BS Fury has been pulling during the negotiations.
What I have noticed though, is a lot of these supposed Usyk fans, are essentially just AJ fans hoping that if Usyk beats Fury it somehow gives AJ credibility. You can guarantee if Fury beats Usyk they’ll just move on to Joyce and start bringing up that amateur win. :lol1:
It does, but then he got completely schooled in the rematch, went life and death with the corpse of Arreola and then stunk out the joint against a 60yr Luis Ortiz.
1) Fury
2) Usyk
3) Wilder
4) Joyce
When have I ever said that AJ is better than Wilder? I've always said that Wilder would knock him out cold.
Joyce doesnt have a win as good as AJ. Maybe the DuBois win is as good as Ortiz.
Joyce needs a quality win to pass Ruiz.
