Would Ryan's win over Tank at 140 count?
It would mean Ryan was a better 140 pound fighter than Tank. It would not mean nearly as much though as it would mean if Ryan beat Prograis or Taylor at 140.
What exactly will it mean when Tank defeats Ryan at 136 with a rehydration clause?
I agree, personally I think the kid pushed hard for the fight and Oscar is just tired of him and is just cashing his check. We all know the kid isn't very disciplined. The kid will learn a lesson but maybe he will get lucky. I HOPE Oscar tells him to to NOT adhere to the rehydration clause. He has a chance then. We will see.
I like how Ryan really pushed for the fight, he must believe he can win and went for it all out, can't say enough good things about his obsession with getting this fight I love seeing them shooting for it.
Honestly, man if the 146 is 12hrs before the fight it doesn't mean anything, Id be more concerned about the 136, Id like to be a fly on the wall during his camp, you would think Oscar would know better than anyone about being drained although this is not as drastic as Oscar being 154-160 for over 10 years and trying to cut to 147, but it does show how your body crashes at a certain point, plus Ryan is young and has a long time to get it right, but no doubt the 136 is a worry, I,ll let you know after the first round, although at that point I wont have to tell you anything you will know.
Well the 146 is of no concern IF the weigh in is 12hrs before the fight; maybe they think it's a mental power play advantage who knows, I could never understand how Oscar could wreck himself as much as he did, but he did and his team are not stupid but what they did was real stupid, in my mind they assumed they could make it and they were wrong, they should have done a dummy run on drying out that much to see what his body will do, the rest is history gained 2lb instead of 22lb.
The CW 136 is the big one; the rest is just mental gymnastics.

Well, I guarantee you they didn't set up all these hurdles for Ryan to jump through for no reason. They aren't stupid.

I don't agree with the 12hrs not being enough , if he is 146 with 12hrs to go he could easily be 150-152 by fight time, remember from 136 to 146 is half the time he has to fully rehydrate.
I think the rehydration clause is dumb from Tanks perspective if it's in the morning, to me its a waste of time they not fighting in the morning, I don't see a reason that makes sense for it.
The 136 CW is another thing, this is a handicap on Ryan and will have more effect than the 146 clause will have, the reason is because it affects the muscle mass Ryan will carry throughout camp, basically, he will train smaller than what his body wants to be which is the real damage of a CW, you a better to train at your normal weight and attempt to lose only water weight then put it back, but training light to make weight is very risky, I would have liked to see the fight at 140 as both have fought there, it would have been a slight handicap to Davis because he is naturally smaller but both wouldn't have any chance of being weakened and it would have been an honourable route for Davis.

Thankyou. I wonder why Tank never defended himself. I will add that even though the weigh in is in the morning it takes time to rehydrate the cells even if he drinks more liquids that morning. He will still be at a disadvantage
What do you think about Garcia saying, “fook the hydration clause”? And coming in heavier? Is that fair to you?

This states the 146 is in the morning, if that is true 146 will have no bearing on what Ryan weighs 12 hrs later, it also states they muct both be not over 146 in the morning. This was on Yahoo.
But that’s not the only big stipulation Garcia agreed to as there is a hydration clause which limits Garcia, and Davis, to tack on no more than 10 pounds overnight after the April 21 weigh in. There will be another weigh in the morning of the fight, with a 146-pound limit.

I imagine you have proof of this? You know of a place where Tank says what your saying? Cause if I was Tank. Thats what I would say. I havent heard him say it yet.

LMAO so you think Tank can come in at whatever weight he wants?
No, reread it again. You either have proof of Tank defending himself or you dont. Which is it?
If YOU were Tank wouldn't you say that the rehydration clause is the same for himself? Just saying.
You do realize the rehydration clause applies to Tank, also?
Nevermind
I forgot, you don’t think past the first step
I imagine you have proof of this? You know of a place where Tank says what your saying? Cause if I was Tank. Thats what I would say. I havent heard him say it yet.
The fact that you give Bivol full credit for beating a blown up SMW, you’ll give Garcia credit for beating a blown up Lightweight, but won’t give Tank “full credit “ for the same against a current champ and future HOF’er is quite clear you’re the poster I was talking about
That on top of your other excuses, it’s comical
I don’t know what I can say that won’t make you cry. I said that Bivol’s win over Canelo at 175 wasn’t a big win. I said Tank’s wins over naturally smaller fighters weren’t big wins either. Please stop crying. You are making me feel bad.
99% of people on here will never understand making a weight below what their use too nor understand being dehydrated intentionally. Don't waste your time explaining it to these girls.
Everyone knows reasoning with a women is damn near impossible.
Show me where I'm lying.
1) correct
2) correct
3) it wasn't a fake but did not established Canelo as the better LHW
4 & 5) not fake but not big wins either
6) real victory according to the rules at LHW. Not a big win, other than it raised Bivol's profile
7) Are you admitting that Garcia is superior to Tank at 140?
8) Oscar didn't drain himself for Pac, he was at 147 for a Floyd rematch. Bottom line though is that few give a lot of credit for that win, I certainly don't.
Let's list the excuses from poster's like yourself:
1. Ward - gift decision over Kovalev
2. Ward - fake knockout over Kovalev. Ball shots
3. Canelo - fake knockout over Kovalev. Not enough time to prepare
4. Tank - fake KO over LSC. LSC came up in weight
5. Tank - fake KO over H. Garcia. Garcia came up in weight
6. Bivol - real victory over Canelo who came up in weight
7. Garcia - will have a real victory over Tank who os coming up in weight
8. Pac - real victory over DLH who came down in weight
And the list goes on and on
Just enjoy the fight and stop complaining about every damn thing
Posters like yourself? Got it...
Tank vs H. Garcia/LSC don't count because they came up in weight against Tank
But if Ryan beats Tank at 140, that will count for Ryan despite Tank being outside his natural weight class?
Of course, there's no double standards on this board. It's all consistent
What it would mean is that at 140, Ryan was the better man. What exactly does it mean if Tank beats Ryan at 136 with a rehydration clause? Real question, because I don't know what it's supposed to mean.
Canelo beat Kovalev but he didn't face Kovalev without rushing him into the fight on a short turnaround and he didn't face him by the same rules everyone else faced Kovalev with at LHW. I don't know what the "win" was supposed to mean.
Tank has to lose just as much if not more weight than Ryan. 135 lbs is his natural weight class. Tank is barely 5'4 with platforms on.
Just like Loma refused to fight Pac at 140 because it wasn't his weight class
You guy's and your built in excuses. Just enjoy the fight man
Hatton had to lose lots of weight too. It's called fat.

Ryan Garcia is being drained and also has a rehydration clause of 10lbs. | BoxingScene Community
