Bivol is a patient boxer, who knows when to be aggressive and he has a great work rate when he starts punching. Canelo`s patient stalker style will never work well again that guy. Even more because Bivol is faster and taller guy with bigger reach and superior jab.
First fight Canelo was looking to box, be smart and look pretty. Second fight he came determined to impose himself on Golovkin i.e. pressure i.e “beat GGG at his own game”.
GGG 2, skinny, big-head Nelo with stamina to really fight is what he needs to bring to Bivol.
He still lost that second Golovkin fight, just not as wide.
Maybe he gets Bivol out of second gear?
I didn't see it that way. In the 1st fight, Canelo tried to beat GGG at his own game and got a draw for it. 2nd fight, he fought his way (still a plodder but lots of upper body movement) and got the W. Or maybe I have it backwards.
But yes, the Jacobs fight would suffice as well.

Bivol controlled the whole fight and didn’t even need to be pushed .......unless canelo pays the judges and and everybody involved in the rematch he loses and he loses even more convincing.
Bivol has superior boxing skills in almost every department and it showed in the last fight
Bivol isn't fucking Jacobs. Canelo was able to do what he did against Jacobs because Danny has a tendency to get sloppy and fight rather unorthodox, to his detriment. It was a clash of styles that benefitted Canelo. He will never be able to fight that way against Bivol because Dmitry won't give him the opportunities that Jacobs did. If you guys are needing to go back that many years to find a specific form of Canelo (i.e. Jacobs, GGG 2), chances are that that Canelo doesn't exist anymore.
Bivol will smoke him
There is hardly anything that Canelo can do in the ring better than Bivol. Rematches generally favour the superior boxer, especially when they already won the first one.
I didn’t think Canelo would win first time and I give him next to no chance next time if they fight under the same circumstances as the first fight, in terms of weight.
Bivol is just better than him, and a stylistic problem for Canelo
it is what it is. Anybody that understands boxing could’ve told you before the first fight that it’s a very difficult fight for Canelo and it will be even more difficult next time.
- - Golovkin is hyper aggressive feeding into Canelo natural counterpunching style. Bivol passive aggressive not walking into counterpunches not to mention bigger/stronger.
Time to study up on styles and physical attributes.
Why does everything have to come down to pettiness?
You could easily carry a conversation without having to get into the NSB typical, you don't know boxing blah blah blah, I know everything rah rah rah. its boring.
No. He should fight like he did against Jacobs. He lacked jabs and sat on his punches in GGG 2.

If Alvarez was the kind of guy to dominate in most of his big fights, it’d bolster his ranking tremendously
These guys only happen to boxing at least every other generation
Who bolstered hais rankings though? Make it make sense if your tryna compel an arguement
I agree.
The 175 pounds division, does not really have a highly competitive landscape in this era 'But tt has not been highly competitive for sometime'.
I think there are only two elite fighters in the division 'Bivol & Beterbiev, these are the only two fighters who are equivocally elite on merit'.
Plenty of world class fighters, but not many elite fighters.
Alvarez in all honesty, the only reason he has been able to move up through the weight classes 'Is due to this era's Middle Weight to Light Heavyweights divisions being under par'
Alvarez is a elite fighter, but when you check his resume 'I can name many fighters who would beat his best wins more impressively'.
Bivol just seems like a solid athlete all around, and a fighter with good fundamentals 'I have not seen any super elite abilities from him'.
Bivol skill for skill is not a miles better fighter than Alvarez. Alvarez has faced better competition skill for skill throughout his career.
Cotto, Mosley, Lara, Golovkin all of these fighters a better fighters skill for skill than most of the fighters on Bivol's resume.
The reason why Alvarez is finding it a extreme challenge to beat Bivol is not due to lack of skill.
Right
Bivol lacks the opponents to show us how good he could really be
likely that Alvarez will be the only great he fought

I suspect Bivol to fight the same way he did in the first fight. I know some don't believe this but to me, Bivol is straight up and down, no special effects kind of boxer. There's no ability to fight a different way in him, in my opinion.
Canelo can at least go out there to point fight.
He's still a plodder. But he does have the ability to stick and avoid. I can imagine Canelo doing what he did with GGG in the 2nd fight. Although Bivol is a lot bigger and likely has longer arms (I didn't check the reach, I'm assuming here)
