That was a “passing of the torch” type of fight that Clenelo fumbled(Not quite, he still became a household name on his own right years later, but he would’ve been an even bigger star now had he got the job done that night, and you can take that to the bank). I honestly thought history would’ve repeated itself based on fights like, Oscar vs JCC and Whitaker, SRL vs Norris/Camacho, etc, but Floyd proved me wrong that night. That honestly was the only Floyd fight that made me nervous as a fan due to the fact that Canelo had every physical advantage even at 152 and had major “string-puller/s” who desperately wanted him to succeed by any means necessary and he still failed that mission.
