No Thurman announced yet.
Not a peep from either recently either.
Then I saw something on fight hype the other day saying spence was training for Crawford. I figured it was just a typo
Apparently Mike Coppinger over at ESPN has said that talks have resumed with a purse split already being settled.
Here's my grain of salt to go with this news.
Tell that weirdo just the facts.
Cocksucker has been stalking me all around this forum.
Who stalks you? You post in at least half of the threads here. Dumb phuck……….
Fight isnt happening.
They’re going to have to pay way more than a fight is worth to get these two in the ring
Crawford just got overpaid and got 10 mil to fight Avanesyan. He’s going to want 20 mil to fight Spence after that.
This fight just isn’t the kind of fight where they can pay 40-50m in fighter purses. Neither are crossover stars.
Crawford loses either way.
But who cares? They aren't going to fight and one side isn't even really trying to fight. Go for the money grab. Break the WBO defense streak and cash out with a lot of money.
The other. Go fight 154 and maybe do what you were trying to do at 147 but there instead.
Spence's going to announce the fight If he beats Thurman but he'll demand it be at 154. Crawford will accept the challenge and then he'll lose to the bigger man
Crawford beats Spence at 147.
Spence beats Crawford at 154.
I seen Espinoza say that. But why would spence vs Crawford be on the spectrum cable docket for june when they were negotiating for a November, December, February date. We never heard a June 2023 date mentioned at any point of that 7 month negotiation last year
We'll find out soon either way
I thought the same. I'm also thinking that the other fights they have are all happening this year and were planned no less than 2-3 months ago. So how did Crawford v Spence end up on there with other current fights if the "idea" is this was from a year or 2 ago? Doesn't add up.
Espinoza came out and tried debunking the date as "This could've been put up last year".
I will say though that there's really been no buzz at all about a Spence vs Thurman fight (mind you, at 154 for no belts). I feel they put of a "feeler" to see what the reaction would be but it's pretty clear NOBODY is asking for this fight which ultimately means it's not going to be a "Box Office" grab. The fact that Tank vs Ryan is getting the priority should say something.
I think even Spence know it's now or never because he's only got 1 Welterweight fight left in him and the second he moves to 154 it's over.

Crawford also said awhile back if no Spence fight then he’s gonna start his campaign at 154. I don’t think (hope) they’ll let this fight slip away. It doesn’t mean as much at 154.
I don't know if you seen the report, but the cable company spectrum revealed its upcoming ppv events and spence/crawford was on the list scheduled for june

If its officially on why would they keep it a secret, one would think if it was really on the longer people have to pump it the better, I cant see any reason why they would not come out and say its on, unless its a speculative date and they still trying to make the fight in the back room.
I never said it was official...
Just watched. Not sure what to make of it. But I’m hoping it happens next for both of them.
being a fan of boxing for so long you get used to a lot of dull years full of trash talk with a couple of big years sprinkled in. This is shaping up to be a big year so far so I’m hoping this fight happens.

Interesting. Here’s hoping you’re/they’re right.

I'm with you on that. I don't know what to believe either at this point. But the cable company said it's not a mistake so we'll see soon enough
