Itauma said something in an interview like Tyson Fury may not be there by the time he gets a title shot.
Not sure about that... Fury said he'll keep fighting as long as possible because without boxing he becomes depressed.
I like that Itauma is trying to do this.. even if he has a snowball's chance in hell... it brings something interesting to boxing again.
This is the guy i have my eyes on. Trust me, he's legit.
Don't know whether he'll pick up a title to become the youngest ever. But he'll definitely pick up a title at some point.

Date for Moses Itauma to break the #1 record: May 20th, 2025
I know some people are quite high on him
okolie said a 15 year old Ituma gave him his hardest spar.
Still, he’s young and we don’t know anything about his durability or anything yet.
Who knows though , records are there to be broken. He’s got 2 and a half years. The likes of Fury and Usyk might be retired then, Usyk will be nearly 40. Wilder will be about 40 too, Joyce will be too.
with it being the 4 belt era, and the division probably being significantly weaker in the next few years, it’s not out of the question you could end up in some easy vacant title fight and win a belt. Charles Martin got a world title..
so it’s not beyond the realms of possibility if they move him fast and get a bit of luck with the belt situation, vacant title fights etc
Agreed to all. But in order to be properly compared to Tyson, Itauma would have to grab at least three belts. It’s a tall order; but like you said, it’s not out of the realm of possibility. This kid is good. Good enough to be a dominant heavyweight champ at 20 like Iron Mike? I wouldn’t put money on it.

I wouldn’t call Itauma “flabby.” The kid is 18; it’s literally baby fat. He’s probably done growing, height-wise, but he’s likely to get stronger and more muscular. He’s undefeated in 22 amateur fights. Definitely someone to keep an eye on.
Undefeated in 22 amateur fights at what level?

Debuts on Beterbiev vs. Yarde undercard
Long way to go to beat Mike Tyson's record, seems impossible but good luck to him
how much does the kid weigh?
Not sure.
All I know is if a new guy wants to make a name for himself almost immediately, this HW era is the time and place to do it.
Thanks for that additional footage. The Spanish announcer was singing Itauma’s praises. Lol One obvious thing that hasn’t been mentioned is that Moses is a southpaw. A good lefty is always tough. The kid goes to the body and mixes his punches. And he was only 17 in that bout.
Everybody talking about the resources Mike Tyson had: I would like to know how this kid is so damn savy in the ring. The only prospect that was moving half as good was Wardly, the British kid, but not like this kid... Someone who knows the ropes is training this kid. There are other very strong prospects like jared, who has a world class jab and power, but this kid reminds me of Fury when some of us said "when this big goof finds his way a bit he has the potential to win it all. Remember also that Tyson F made plenty of mistakes, arguably losing to mcDermot and getting tagged good by Cunningham... But his skills and range were there if one watched carefully.
Of course so much can happen as the opposition gets better, but this kid is going to the job site with a full tool box. I thank you for this thread my guy lol. I am truly impressed by this kid.
nvm looking at his amateur record.
idk if he gets there in time in 2 years.
hes got basically one more year to really clean up at heavyweight to make enough noise to schedule a title bout by 20
No way no how. Nobody will want to risk fighting this kid, he won't get the fights.
Looks good, no doubt. I don’t see Tyson, though. I’m not accustomed to seeing heavyweights so young, however. My only real experience is, well, Tyson. Itauma so far demonstrates a style that is more Tyson Fury than Mike Tyson. Not a bad thing, to be sure, but there aren’t too many big men that can truly pull that off. Currently only the heavyweight champ, in my opinion. So much can happen between now and a date with destiny. But as of now, Moses looks promising. Just my opinion.
:lol1::lol1: I reread my post this afternoon and the wife had her "Honeydo" list that pulled me away... I had meant to qualify that I meant Tyson Fury and not Iron MIke. Tyson Fury at this kid's age was still more ackward... You could see the skills though, but this kid is polished! He looks like Fury when Fury was starting to confidently fight off the back leg at times. Seldom are heavyweights fighting off the back foot. And the kid has excellent reactions, his distance, timing and reflexes really make me take notice.
Well, Itauma seems to have the discipline, desire and size. But Tyson had D’Amato and his resources. Time will tell. At the very least we now have someone to keep an eye out for. Good luck to him.
Hahahahahahahahahahaha
You beat me to it
Cus was an integral part to Mike Tyson

Those images are in the member’s sig. They’re not part of his post.
So every time they post, it comes up? Even more sad then, there should be a filter for idiots who ain't grown up yet
Here is another fight. Great sense of distance, hard to train that... Defensively does not get hit much, dances, throws punches in bunches.
