PBC did a terrible job with him in 2022. Boots should be fighting 3 times a year minimum at this stage of his career. Boots only saw 2 rounds of action in 22 and that’s just not good enough.
Presuming he wins tonight, I’d like to see him fight again by May at the latest, even if it’s just defending the IBF interim strap against one of the ranked contenders. At the very least just keep him active.
Then by the end of 2023, I’d like to see Boots in with one of the top guys. If Spence or Crawford aren’t available then go after Ortiz, even Stanionis or Ugas would be good opponents.
I think a lot of us agree that this kid has all the talent in the world but his career needs to start progressing, let’s hope 2023 delivers the fights he needs.
The waiting for Spence excuse is now gone for Ennis. What should happen next? I don't think Spence will be back rushing to negotiate after his fight with Thurman.

This ain’t happening, especially after his last fight. He’ll be spoon fed slow, no powered, no experienced or old opponents for the next 3-5 years just like the Charlo’s and Tank. It’s the American way.
I hope he gets nailed to the floor this year.
Nothing against him or anything but his fans are pretty much already putting him in the same league as Sugar Ray Robinson it seems.
Like I told you in the other thread, what makes you think Boots isn't next for Spence?

Yup….
Like I told you in the other thread, what makes you think Boots isn't next for Spence?
Showtime won't put Boots in there yet despite the mando position if they can avoid it
Thurmans been in with Danny Garcia, Pacquaio, Porter and is basically semi retired and more marketable to sell it will do okish numbers certainly more than Buds last event and that will be their ace if they negotiate with him again. They have no reason to throw Boots in there he's young and will be around 147 a while as the next generation and a good replacement when Spence moves up to 154
Dunkin is a PBc puppet like everyone else under pbc banner and showtime.
hey what did you think about his performance tonight? Lmao
still wrong about Dunkin working for or even with PBC, he work with Espinoza not Haymon
as for Boot performance 120-108 all 3 Judges so that is shut out basically which I'm personally not so sure I agree with. More credit to Karen who has a very slick and slippery style that Boots honestly did not look as if he came prepared for especially in some early rounds in which I thought Karen no doubt won some of those
styles make fights, did not look as good vs Karen it happens this is boxing
No Dunkin switched to Promoter YEARS ago now because he kept losing fighters
Did he? I’ve never seen him promote a show. Pretty sure he’s just a manager.
Dunkin’ isn’t a promoter. He’s just a manager. I know the lines are often blurred in boxing but I’m not sure he has a promoters licence.

First of all for like the 1000x..."Boots Ennis Is Not PBC"
Boots Ennis is with Cameron Dunkin who has some sort of dealings with with Showtime and I'm sure it is Espinoza getting him on this PBC Cards, same with Brandun Lee and now Demetrius Andrade. Probably would speed things up if he did sign the Advisory Agreement with PBC actually. The problem is that Cameron Dunkin is a much Smaller Promoter so he just cannot provide Boots or Lee with bigger name opponents. For goodness sake Brandun Lee is fighting a guy that is like 21-10 and is rated like #575 by Boxrec
So Blame Cameron Dunkin I guess if you want to cry about Boot opponents. I do think he will have a huge 2023 because he is in Mandatory Spot or close to in every Belt Ranking besides the WBA who somehow just removed him completely out of their Rankings. Shots at Spence and Bud probably not likely at least not anytime soon BUT Speedy Ellis, winner of Stanionis vs Ortiz it is still so may excellent options. People have to want to fight him too though, he can beg for this fights all he wants but if guys don't actually want to fight him then it is really nothing he can do honestly

if he is the #1 mandatory, Spence HAS TO FIGHT HIM!!! It's not optional. It's up to Boots now to exercise his mandatory.
When was the last time Spence faced an IBF mandatory? Ocampo maybe?

Interesting post
Is Ennis with PBC? If you were him what would you do?
Well he fights on PBC cards, A lot of the fighters there don’t have a traditional promoter like Top Rank, Golden Boy, Warren etc. so it seems like there’s no real investment behind them and route to build them
but he’s a welterweight and fighting on PBC cards seems to be the best place for that. So there’s probably not much he can do. He’ll probably just be waiting around until a title becomes available.
I think if he had a real promoter behind him and they felt he was capable of beating the best fighters and have a long successful run, then at this point they could pay names like Thurman enough to fight him, if they believe Ennis wins and can make that money back down the road. That’s how you build a fighters profile, and then it puts big value on the fighter to tempt the champions.
That’s why you need a good promoter who might essentially pay opponents over the odds to fight you at this stage, if your promoter believes you’re going to be a big star and can recoup it all back down the road. That’s how the best promoters built their fighters to the point the public are wanting them to fight the champ so much that it becomes a money fight and the champ has a big offer. Or at least the opponents they’re paying are highly ranked enough to boost your fighter to the top of the rankings to
get mandatory positions. Golden Boy are doing a good job of this with Ortiz at the moment.
and therein lies the problem with PBC, they’re not promoters per se, they just put on events, which is why so many of their fighters end up treading water because they don’t put investment into fighters with a bigger picture.
Joe Joyce is an example too. Warren basically overpaid Joseph Parker to fight on Warren’s platform against his fighter Joyce. But Joyce batters Parker and suddenly the whole country is like “I’d love to see Joyce v Fury/Usyk” and it lines up a bigger money fight. Next thing you know, Warren might have an in-house fight next summer with 2 of his fighters infront of 95,000 people. That’s old school promoting and building fighters and fights. PBC don’t bother doing it much.

Who do you think he can realistic fight?
Problem is he’s falls under the ‘high risk low reward’ category
i.e no one is in a rush to fight him right now
This is why boxing sucks

and if he does, Boots would just fight the #2. It's really that simple.
And that’ll wind up being someone like Karen. Being IBF mandatory doesn’t really accelerate Ennis’ progress IMO.
Spence doesn’t necessarily have to fight him unfortunately.
