mexican and blacks dont have any money they are illegally streaming the fight not buying it
This post isnt even remotely racist and NO ONE should even consider it as such.
It shouldn’t do that well. Neither man is even close to a ELITE fighter. If it does well it’s cause most if the men on here didn’t watch “housewives, the bachelor or Kardasians.
This PPV if more of a popularity contest than watching two elite, professional boxers.
Based on what has been happening in PPV lately with anyone not named Canelo (even Canelo's numbers have come down quite a lot and he IS a household name in the US) I can see it even bombing and doing 200-300K. Ryan only fights on an app so many don't know who he is and Tank has been on PPV fights averaging 75K for a few years now so even he is not on TV anymore available to be discovered by casual fans. Instagram followers does not relate to PPV buys. There are many bots on there and secondly, Ryan's fan base trends much younger so the high cost of PPV is somewhat of a hurdle.
Probably but I'm going to stay no because Ryan's not from Mexico and not that known even in his home country, ig don't mean squat. Stank is not that know either other than his hometown, pbc stans and core fans.
This fight is going to do way better than expected. The fight fans in both the UFC and boxing are starving. There will be a lot of illegal streams but there will also be a lot of people itching to have a big fight to watch. A lot of people don’t even know how excited they’ll get until it’s announced.
But in reality, this fight isn’t happening in April, if at all. Not trying to be cynical, just realistic.
Tank has legal issues and Ryan is flaky. Coupled with the fact that the turn around from this weekends fight will be too soon. I believe this will be a tricky and high contact bout requiring more time before jumping back into a media run and a hard training camp.
Probably somewhere in the 600-650k region I would have thought. Is there any fight that would do a million in the current climate in the US? Over here in the UK, Usyk-Joshua II apparently did over a million buys.
How would Canelo-Benavidez do?
Canelo GGG did 550k. No way it does even that. People don't even know who these guys are. They're not household names yet.
It does way more than that but not 1 million. These guys both have appeal to sell and market unlike Canelo and GGG who are boring outside of a ring.
A lot of people think streaming is hurting boxing but in reality it's more than that. Nowadays you can also watch the fight on YouTube immediately after or at least to see the KO if there is one. And people that have Snapchat and Instagram can post stories of the fight. I'm not advocating for any of this I'm just saying the reality of the market out there that makes it tough to sell a lot of pay-per-views.
I live in Houston. I am in sales but go to the warehouse and shipping department and talk with the workers there 4 guys who are young like 20-25 years old. All of them know about Gervonta Davis vs Ryan Garcia. 2 are Mexican and 2 are black which is the main demographic for that fight obviously but they are all very interested in Gervonta Davis vs Ryan Garcia.

yeah i noticed in the last 2 years even canelo;s numbers are way down, boxing PPV across the board the numbers are way down for everyone
500k
the days of holyfield-tyson and everyone talking about boxing are long gone.
this fight only does 500k because of garcia's social media notoriety but a lot of those are young people that arent going to drop 70 dollars on a boxing ppv either.
