We need to straighten things out here.
It appears that he can fight outside of his side of the street because he and his fans are complaining why Crawford didn't pick him. In reality that's not how it works. Your mother network makes fights for you, not let you fight outside of the premises. You tell Espinoza, in this case, that you want the Crawford fight and ask him to send an offer.
We need objective opinions here.
And be careful with your responses because you might contradict yourself in future negotiation scenarios.

Ennis Agrees To Multi-Fight Deal With Showtime; To Face Custio Clayton In May 14 Co-Feature

The gifted Philadelphia native does, however, have a firm commitment from a network. BoxingScene.com has learned that Ennis has agreed to a multi-fight contract with Showtime, which could televise as many as three of Ennis’ bouts before the end of 2022.
He only fought once this year. Any kind of penalty for SHO for unfulfilled fights? Why not just be a free agent if things are not getting any easier?
There's still 2 months left for this year.
I'm very sure BLK executives are listening intently to all these wailings emanating from the Boots Ennis camp. This is like a lightbulb moment to them, "Oh yeah, that's another potential fight we can make for Crawford after the Avanesyan fight, why not?"
I would even suggest BLK offer free tickets to Ennis' people ringside seats in the Avanesyan vs Crawford fight. Why not?
Ennis vs Crawford in 2023 produced by BLK is not an awfully hard fight to make. Boots better get ready and avoid pricing himself out.
There'll be plenty of time next year to talk about that fight.
thats making a HUGE assumption.
No, I'm echoing Ennis' and his fans' assumptions, which suits the agenda of depicting Crawford is avoiding Boots.
He could just be talking smack to get press.......
Exactly the point of this thread.
Bottom line is if Ennis keeps saying he will accept a fight with Crawford in a heartbeat, then he's allowed to fight outside of Showtime. We'll soon see if it becomes an excuse when other non-Showtime fights are offered.
Right now there's nothing out there that explains exactly what his deal with Showtime looks like and why he can't even get stay-busy fights.

you need to clarify what it is that you are asking.
By definition, "exclusive" means what it says. If Ennis has an exclusive deal with Showtime, then he cannot fight on another platform, unless Showtime allowed it.
However, if I remember correctly that was only a 2 or 3 fight deal for 2022 only, so unless they renewed it, he can fight whoever he wants next year. (Or at least whoever Al will allow him to fight)
