Paramount Global chief Bob Bakish made it clear Wednesday that Showtime Networks’ days as a standalone unit within the conglomerate are numbered.
Comments during the company’s third-quarter earnings call with Wall Street analysts indicated strongly that the operations of Showtime and Paramount Plus will be more fully blended in the coming months. The Showtime brand is likely to endure as a programming label but staff cuts and further consolidation of Paramount Global’s high-end scripted development and production activity is coming. This comes as Showtime Networks’ longtime leader, David Nevins, is preparing to exit Paramount Global by the year’s end.
I wonder how good it is for the sport that Al goes around sinking every network he’s on. Hopefully no one picks this guy up ever again. Boxing has been crap since PBC’s inception in 2015.
I wouldn’t trust him as far as I can throw him (Which would probably be further than I think as he looks like a tiny individual). Also heard Benavidez-Uzcategui has been cancelled. Which is funny since Charlo’s last fight also got cancelled.
Yeah it got cancelled for a better fight. Meanwhile Oscar is giving you Mungia vs 65th ranked fighter in a 10 round fight. Lol
Just read Benavidez vs Uzi was called off due to poor public reception as well. Since when has that ever been an issue for PBC? Regardless, atleast it leaves on opening for Plant vs Benavidez now.
That's the fight we all wanna see like Crawford vs Spence but boxing politics is such bs that the promoters look out for their best interest instead of the sport . How are they gonna create superstars when everyone's b1tching and moaning .
Glad I have lowered my expectations in this sport.
Doesn't bother me anymore when fights I want to see are not made.
Like one gentleman here said, cherrypicks gone wrong types are more fun to see.
the fact that people think this has anything to do with Boxing is beyond hilarious
some Boxing Fans are insane
Talking showtime boxing. Boxing. We’ll see if the boxing survives on showtime after the restructuring. Word is not likely.

I'll say it again this is perfect for DAZN or ESPN but you HAVE to have 100% veto power with him or he will give you trash fights like Benavidez vs Uzcategui or Charlo vs some Bum vs having those 2 face each. 240 fighters under contract so you can buy unlimited fight cards from him but by all means do not let him determine the makeup of the cards. At this point he is pretty much doing PPV. You have the leverage, don't be stupid.

That is the exact opposite of what he is saying is happening.
Paramount Media Group is over two streaming services: Paramount+ and Showtime. They're consolidating the staff now that both services are under one company.
The brand differentiation isn't going anywhere - they have two unique brands driving revenue, they're not just going to trash one of them. Paramount+ is going to offer a broad package of content, Showtime will continue to focus on urban/black-focused content.
