His athleticism is declining and that exposes his lack of natural size at 135.
Personally, I’d like to see Haney fight Stevenson at 135 and Loma fight the Valdez-Navarrete at 130.
Same with Canelo. Nobody is making these guys fight in these divisions.
Canelo lost because Bivol is better boxer though
lets not act like Canelo was really undersized. He was struggling to make 154 in his early-mid 20’s, so he was a natural 160 then. Since his late 20’s he’s essentially been 168 and probably couldn’t make 160 well anymore. I’d say at this point, 175 was moving up one weight class from his current natural size. And Bivol isn’t a big 175 anyway. He says he could make 168. I believe there’s probably only a few pounds natural size difference between the two.
And before anyone posts pics of Bivol being taller, I can show you featherweights as tall as Mike Tyson. Means nothing.
If you list the thing Canelo can do better Bivol in the ring, it’s not a long list. That’s why he lost.
Exactly this. It’s so obvious too. A lot of people have a weird hatred for Loma. Not sure why tbh.
Yeah, Loma doesn't have to fight at Lightweight but he likes to challenge himself, he could go back to 130 and easily dominant. The dude is the sweet science plus he's savage, it's just peeps sipping on that Hatorade.
I support Loma because he fights everyone unlike the diva, clowns - Spence and Crawford.
Right, I wouldn't say Nakatani is smaller than Haney. Kinda hate seeing this stuff about Loma being tiny.
I reminds me of Pacquiao
Every damn fight it was ‘dare bigger den me’ etc
It’s funny no one was saying this BEFORE the Lopez fight, and after the nakatani or Comey fights. No, he’s the greatest fighter ever lol.

Hold up- no one forced Loma to fight at 135. Fans can only assess him based on how he fights. If he has a bad night, fans saying so isnt hate.
Question- what is wrong if a fan doesn’t like Loma?
People are suggesting that him being too small for 135 is an “excuse” when in it’s simply a reality. He can still have success at 135 but it would be undoubtedly beneficial for him to go to 130 IMO.
The Loma hate is weird man, I think it’s a race thing tbh. Whether it’s black/white, west/east or whatever but there’s an awful lot of negativity whenever he fights.
In response to the question: Fans have the right to an opinion but I’d question the objectivity of them surrounding Loma, Canelo, Wilder and several other boxers who get a lot of unnecessary hate on boards like these.
To be fair, lots of people have been saying since the Linares fight that 135 is probably one division too high fit him.
And even though he beat Linares, it was evident. He gets to pick his own weight class, so it's his choice if he wants to fight guys who are dropping 15 pounds to fit a weight class that where he cant even meet the weight.
I appreciate the spirit of challenge, and if he makes undisputed, great for him. But I dont peronally see the point of chasing it in LW.
What weight did Canelo come in at for the Bivol fight? Didnt he at least get to 175? Lots of fighters move up as they grow, whether its natural growth or gear they use, but its an oddity to fight above your weight everytime you fight. That would be like canelo staying at LHW even tho he couldnt weigh above 168.

Loma started off as a Featherweight, he's not a natural Lightweight, you can clearly see that he's at a physical disadvantage at 135.

Why would Loma want to compete with guys that he would handily beat when he enjoys the challenge of fighting bigger guys who have much more acclaim? It would be like demoting himself. He's fighting for the highest stakes that he can. He doesn't want to be second best.
He easily beats Navarrete and Valdez?
Thos fights would both be competitive.
Mike Tyson was a natural heavyweight. It is not about height, it is about frame.
Loma fighting at 135 is like Benavidez fighting at cruiserweight.
frame = height and reach, otherwise it means nothing. its not wrestling.

So 32=5?
So Loma is not great enough to make up for the size disadvantage? lol. Stop acting like he is 5 foot tall. Tyson was more undersized his whole career.

"This is lightweight? This is heavyweight!".
Haney the low blow weight bully.
I’ve never seen where Haney has thrown/landed a huge amount of low blows. Have you? Weight bully? As long as you make the contractual weight, there is no such thing.

He chose to be in that weight class so it’s his problem
