The biggest fight that we’ve been begging for fell apart at the last minute, even though it was clear that there’s be no better time for it to happen than right NOW. And now, Spence-Crawford will probably become the next Mayweather-Pacquiao; a fight between two guys at the end of their ropes, a husk of what it’s potential had promised years ago. It’s moments like this that give me a sense of vindication for saying that we need to merge some of the sanctioning orgs and wipe out the promotion companies in the hopes of finding an alternative.
Someone once dismissed my proposal as being simultaneously “too socialist” and “too much monopoly” somehow (I don’t know, you tell me). And I just want to ask, you got any better ideas? Cause we’re seeing the current system slowly kill our favorite sport right in front of us. Are you really gonna just shoot down any proposed solutions while softly choosing to maintain something that is clearly not working for us? Cause it’s doing you no good.
I don’t care if my idea might not work, it’s worth trying in the hopes we’ll find the better solution along the way; experiment with different systems until you find the right one.
