Wilder never beat anybody worth a damn.
Joshua`s last win is Pulev, but even shot Chisora beats Pulev, so Pulev sucks.
Fury`s last win is Whyte, but Whyte was knocked out by ancient Povetkin not so long ago.
All the guys have much to prove to me. There are many fresh dangerous contenders waiting.
Wilder`s last fight is shot Helenius, Fury is scheduled to fight Chisora, Joshua will likely take an easy touch.
Folks, that is not the way to prove you are on the top of division.
Yes that would be one of best fights possible to make in division but I hear wilder going final eliminator route with ruiz for wbc, whilst Joyce going wbo route and Joyce is a no name in US, which is supposedly a good excuse to duck joyce?
Bottom line is neither Fury nor Usyk are taking a big risk util fight each other. Which is leaving division in stall for at least a 6-9 month depends if there will be rematch clause. I hope we can see mix of Wilder, Hrgovich, Joyce, Sanchez, Zhan, AJ and Ruiz (i doubt last two have left much motivation)
That would be Fury, Usyk, Joshua and Joyce.
Wilder hasn`t done anything to be there.
Joyce knocking out Parker is better than the whole Wilder`s career.
It's not better than winning a title and defending it for years. Whether you like the quality of opposition or not. And he beat both Stiverne and Ortiz who were ranked highly.
I'd rate Joyce as currently being better than Wilder too, but I can't rank him above Wilder.
That's the problem. Not enough common opponents in boxing to change rankings.
i would love to see Wilder vs Joyce, and definitely not watching any lazy Fury fight until he fight Usyk

I cant see a reason to think they're not top 5 still. Especially Fury who does look like the top dog, granted he hasnt exactly fought a whos who of this era. Wilder is a weird one to judge because hes limited and vulnerable enough to lose to plenty of guys but also tall, fast and heavy hitting enough to beat practically everybody too. Joshua is perhaps the most questionable of the three because hes basically a solid workmanlike all rounder who doesnt really excel anywhere.
That would be Fury, Usyk, Joshua and Joyce.

Parker is freaking horrible. Did you even watch his fights against Leapai, Fa, or Chisora?
Parker has no heart, no stamina, no power, no desire to win.
The top 4 are pretty clear to me
That would be Fury, Usyk, Joshua and Joyce.

The gap between Fury and the rest might never have been larger though?
He finally defended his titles recently which he had never done, so I'd think he's at lease back to a baseline level with the skeptics. From what I can tell, he still looking in good shape and has a fight scheduled, that's really all you gotta know with Fury, best HW champ in years.
He's a clear and warranted 1 now. Without the defences he was just a guy who had a great win years ago and then beat Wilder... which was never the greatest claim to greatness.
The top 4 are pretty clear to me, but all we know is that Usyk has Joshua's number and Fury has Wilder's. The top of the division has pretty much operated in two conferences.
They're all so different in styles and dimensions that there's plenty more to learn about who is great, who is competitive and who is spent.
But it needs them to fight each other. In any other sport we'd be looking forward to Fury v Usyk and Joshua v Wilder to establish some kind of order. But this is boxing where you can sit on your rating and seemingly not drop in the esteem you're held in.
I've been saying for years when Wilder and AJ fans was having their Back and Forth how OVERRATED this ERA is and I stand by that
HOWEVER I do think Fury is the best of this ERA and his Size and Skill Set would make him Competitive and tough to deal with in ANY ERA
The gap between Fury and the rest might never have been larger though?

Idk all three of these guys still pass the eye test to me. I don't see anybody at the weight beating Fury except by luck, the physical dimensions + skillset are immense. I also think Wilder and Joshua are a clear cut above the field until proven otherwise, losing to Usyk / Fury is nothing to be ashamed of and even the ATGs of the past sometimes got caught by plucky guys like Andy Ruiz before bouncing back.
The reality of heavyweight is that outside of the championship there are like 20 guys who are at a roughly equal skill level. There are always dangerous new contenders just because it's easy at the class to knock out a bunch of bums and get a good looking record. It's all fools gold though, most of these guys would go 50/50 against each other so they all maintain pretty records hoping for a title shot and payday. I'll believe there's a new top guy when I see him come out on top.
QUOTE=Zelda;n31613647]Even though this would be a great fight to watch, it probably ain't the most lucrative fight there is. Wilder's going the WBC way fighting Ruiz as the final eliminator while Joyce is going the WBO way waiting for his title shot. Also, Joyce is a no-name in the US so the fight does not generate that much interest, and Wilder does not sell PPV in the UK.
This what I mean
If they’re not; Who is then?
Fury is still clearly the number one fighter at HW, Usyk is the only guy who can potentially even challenge that status.
Wilder still looks as dangerous as ever to me but I suppose the Helenius didn’t tell us much about how he’s recovered from the Fury losses. Joshua has some questions to answer too after back to back losses but he’s still 4th or 5th at worst. Joyce is probably the only guy you can currently rank above Wilder or Joshua.
