The truth is a lot of heavyweights simply aren't available. Fury, Joshua, and Usyk are all putting themselves on the shelf right now so they're a no go. Ruiz and Ortiz just fought 2 months ago and Joyce last month so those 3 aren't options either and so Helenius is really the only option. It's still not a good fight and most definitely not PPV.
They had calls from Matchroom which they have openly admitted to not even picking up the phone to.
They just wanted this fight. Really is as simple as that, it made sense for them. Let's not pretend otherwise.

True. The man just wants to fight.
This is about getting back in the ring again and just showing the public that Fury didn't completely cripple him.

Leeeeeeeeeeeeeetttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttt myyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy people goooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:
Shite boxing fans in Brooklyn currently by the looks if thats all the tickets sold. The amount of entertainment Deontay has given them over the years you'd think this should sell well on the ground.
And they wonder why people pirate fights! Just stop it already! It wasn’t even 5 years ago that we’d get one ppv per month- most months, but not a bunch of senseless fights. We’d get 2-3 “WTF” PPV bouts but that was about it.
Yeah, Wilder has punching power but that doesn’t mean he needs to show it on PPV. I see if he beat Fury at least once but he got outfoxed all 3 times.
If I can find a stream for this one, I’ll live. Hell….it’s about 10 fights on this Saturday…good fights…and they’re FREE!
Good luck, Fox.
Yeah they are going to eat this one big time financially. Zero appetite for this fight and to put it on ppv is just insane. As others have said, this would have been a random weekend on HBO.
Wouldnt be so bad of it wasnt a ppv. But it is, and its a trash card with the main events outcome already known. Helenious is tailor-made for Wilder....slow, telegraphs his punches and wasnt he his most recent sparring partner too!?!
