PBC doesn't make any of the big fights happen. It's terrible for the sport. Spence vs Crawford, Tank Davis vs Ryan Garcia and David Benavidez vs Jermall Charlo.
I think it's fair to say it's better to see fighters stay active regardless of who they fight.
Let them duck fights they're not sure of winning. I mean fighting once a year is worse.
I hope Showtime Espinoza reads this. Showcase fights are cheaper and easier to make.
Bottom line is, don't let them sit on the shelves for long periods of time.
If fighter A doesn't want to fight fighter B and is demanding huge paycheck, forget it.
Point is, he should not be forced to decide now and take a long layoff.
Give him B, C level fighters. And here's the kicker: upsets do happen.
Yup. The assumption was that Bob was the cancer, and cutting him out would cause everyone to magically sign contracts.
Yeah, it's best to assume negotiations for a super fight take a while. It's still more likely to happen now than it was before.

Because they are a phony in house fighting company. Threats are non negotiable…
Did they say immediately? You'd think a normal person would expect negotiations to take a while.

Spence and Crawford i think is due to GREED.
Tank,Garcia, charla & Benavides is because all four of these guys WORKING makes more money than if only 2 are working.
Mikey Garcia had similar accolades to Crawford at the time of the fight. He was a p4p fighter himself. He took a risk and came up short.
If Crawford wanted the fight, it would've been done already
LMAO, Crawford is the champion at 147 & has been champion for what 4 years now?
Mikey Garcia had never fought at 147.
Crawford completely unified at 140 and was considered P4P #1 on many lists.
Mikey disappeared for years after his Top Rank dispute.
It's not even comparable

Thank you, Al Haymon or Blame Bob! Heard Bob kept his ring girls and Poncher on retainer during Covid while his fighters couldn't get fights. Horrible man. I wonder do TR contracts also include music industry 360 deals? Crawford had the highest guarantee in the welterweight division with 2 guaranteed fights per year. Now he has been sidelined for 1 year as of this month.
Never take sides of a promoter but that dude over at PBC is taking the cake right now. You can even get away with fight-fight deals with Hearn. Don't know about Oscar and his East LA cronies.
I could at least think of four PBC fighters who are prompted to take legit fights already for their next fights Which they themselves knew that anything less would be just too damn much for fans to stomach. There's Tank Davis, Thurman, Ennis, Leo Santa Cruz.
Jermall Charlo hasn't been seen in the ring for more than year now and you omitted his name, how come?

Boxing sucks
Pbc is part of the reason
For years ppl on this site said all that Bud had to do was leave Top Rank and the fight would be made immediately...

Michey Bey had some interviews where he exposed PBC and Mayweather. PBC is shady as hell and keep guys on the shelf. They wouldnt bid on Bey's purse bid for one of his title fights because they had disagreements. PBC is losing money hand over fist im sure
There are probably no networks that want to do a big boxing deal. Why would they? The ratings suck and the fights are not competitive. That is what the network execs say. Fighters and the promoters dont want thier fighters to lose and prefer they fight bums
We can't even have smaller fights like Ennis vs Stanionis, let alone big fights.
Are you sure you're okay with these guys waiting for the Spence/Crawford fight to happen first, then wait for another several months till they're ready to come back?
For years ppl on this site said all that Bud had to do was leave Top Rank and the fight would be made immediately...
Just like crossing the street
That’s all it took
Smfh
When first launch it was understandable that they tried to build as many stars as possible without forcing fighters to cross paths like Thurman vs Spence. The Waddle n Reed war chest that they had early, meant they had the means to accommodate all . That chest is long gone and now theyve had to resort to throwing everything on ppv to essentially "make ends meet". It's time for Al/PBC to pull the pacifiers out and make the big fights that to myself would seem to benefit the fighters and them as a brand?
How long do they plan on throwing Tank vs gimmies,Ruiz vs the Ortizs,Thurman vs the Barrios,Wilder vs the Helenius on ppv for $80 a pop? Shit isn't gonna fly for very long. When FOX pulls out at the end of this year and it doesn't look like there's any investors banging down doors to invest with them, the jig is up.The attempted take over has failed, time to get themselves off that island and play game with everyone else.
It's disappointing and frustrating as a fan. There are so many great fights that we don't get to see happen (not just at PBC but the sport in general). I don't really get it because surely these great match ups would be lucrative for all involved?
Last time I checked PBC fighters get paid well. Some people say they are overpaid. So you just blatantly lied. The fact that your brought race into it makes me believe that's what your agenda is about . But you're not alone. Many in this thread are more obsessed with PBC than they are with boxing and its not hard to figure out why.
That was years ago when pbc guys were getting big guarantees. Pbc guys are making less than 2 million per fight in guaranteed purses these days. The money has ran out. Al has to many fighters and not enough dates. Which is why the top pbc guys fight once per year.
Shakur stevenson guaranteed purse last week was bigger than heavyweights ruiz and Ortiz combined and they fought on ppv.
Haney made double as the B side for his undisputed than jermell made as the A side for his undisputed.
PBC cheap as hell these days if your name ain't canelo
How about you do the math.
Mikey Garcia left TR, he fought Spence immediately
Bud is the problem, always pricing himself out. Ask Arum how much he lost on him
Dude, Mikey Garcia was 2 weight classes below and basically prostituted himself to PBC in a fight literally everybody knew he'd lose for a paycheck.
Not comparable to a 50/50 fight where Spence is at risk
