Golovkin fought four times in the four years since their 2nd fight. DAZN losing money yet again. Not surprising because Bivol beat Canelo thoroughly. Had this fight been made before the Bivol loss IMO it sells probably 250-300k more.

Canelo vs Golovkin 3 was PPV in Australia, New Zealand, UK, USA and Canada and broadcast in over 100 countries worldwide on Dazn. The talk of losing money is funny lol. Mexico showed the fight on Azteca 7 & Canal 5 channels and streamed via TV Azteca Deportes and Vix+ - don't worry, plenty of people watched the fight.

Match ups sells the fights. Two popular fighters this time around did not sell well. Too much time in between fights.

Based on the Caleb Plant fight doing 800k. Based on a Bivol fight who nobody knew doing 500k. A Mexican-American fighter like Benavidez vs Mexican Canelo is an easy fight to market and sell. Charlo is more of un an unknown but is an American undefeated fighter with KO power. Easier to market than Bivol or Beterbiev as opponents. Also Charlo and Benavidez are both in their prime

I didn't agree with DAZN swindling their loyal customers for an additional fee to watch this pay per view event but at the same time I don't wish them to go out of business either. More boxing is always good for the boxing consumer. Matchroom does good with the lower weights. I don't want them to fail either.

Canelo/Plant did 800k and Fury/Wilder 3 about 600k in the US just last year though, Conor had two fights that did well over a million. Big PPV numbers are still very possible with the right fights and platforms. I agree. It really all depends on the matchup. People want their money's worth.

The Benavidez fight would definitely do 800k-1,000,000 and it would be an actual great fight. ****, even a Charlo fight would do way better numbers than this. They are not going to spend their hard earned cash on some uneven, one-sided mismatch that no one ever demanded. I'm pretty sure by now that they can spot an overcharge when they see one. They want to see Canelo in some tough competitive fights. Beating up on washed up 40 years olds are not their definition of a highly competitive/hotly contested fight. They were smart to avoid that shit!

Yeah that won’t cover Canelo’s $45m and GGG’s $20 guarantees. PPV and gate revenue will probably end up being $70m. But others have to get paid too, not just team Canelo and team GGG.

Canelo gets his money so he don't care, it was DAZN who was obsessed with this Trilogy that was way pass its Expiration Date GGG is a Free Agent now, I doubt they want him back anyway since he clearly looks past it. Canelo down to his last fight on this Current Deal in which I guess they hope it is Canelo vs Bivol 2 which is far from a Mega Fight so they will likely take another Lose on that fight given the Purse he is guaranteed. The AJ deal is just starting but he is coming off 2 Loses and a Mental Break so who even knows if he is the same but not only that they don't even have a big fight for him if Wilder and Fury doesn't fight him DAZN won't last, people in complete Denial about it but I give it another Year or Less, they either File Bankruptcy OR they Sell out to Discovery+

I doubt we see dazn in boxing much longer . Its been a massive failure financially
