Victorious O’Shaquie Fosters calls for showdown with Shakur Stevenson

I'm very proud of both boxers for showing their true colors, that despite all the smack talk and the bad blood, they understand that their legacies are tied to one another, and that they are both at the absolute highest level of boxing skill. As a Golovkin fan, do I disagree with the fact that he's 0-2-1? Damn right. This should rightfully be 1-1-1. However, I have learned to respect Canelo a lot through the journey. I will call him out for calling less "risky" fights (not against huge punchers), but damn his run is impressive. Going up 3 divisions while being 5'8" and making mincemeat against some stellar opposition, and even having the guts to fight Bivol, and not only fight, but to demand a rematch against the guy. That's balls. Huge, titanium balls.
In one way, it sucks that Canelo fought Mayweather in his youth. He learned some crap lessons from that fight about stacking the odds in his favor. If he never had the fight, it's possible (although we never know) that he takes an extra L somewhere, but damn if it wouldn't be worth it to remove some of the asterisks next to his name.
Canelo and G showed you boxing at its highest level. Appreciate them while you can. Canelo for challenging himself every fight, and showing improvement with every single fight. G for getting his shots late in his career, and putting up great shows and a great career. He should retire after this fight - he was washed and done in the first 7 rounds, only to come back with the vengeance and show the streaks of old G in the last few rounds.
Great fights by both!
