Is it just me or does Canelo look glassy-eyed and nervous? He seems very tense, as if he's carrying the weight of the world on his shoulders. Meanwhile, Golovkin looks like he's about to attend an evening dinner. He almost looks a little smug, as if he knows something that we don't know ... am I seeing this correctly? Thoughts? (Because right now, it appears to me that Golovkin is winning the mental battle for this fight, with himself, while Canelo is losing the mental battle with himself.)
I wouldn’t listen to Hearn’s comments. I think he’s trying to position the fight as a competitive “who knows?” bout as opposed to the fight where experts and media consensus is Canelo wins.
We'll see soon enough.
I have to agree in this case. I think he is just ready to fight. I see him showing a healthy respect to GGG. You saw this in the last couple of face offs. No more mean mugging…they both nodded at each other and turned away. That’s a sign that they are in warrior mode. No more talking and flexing…just fighting.
I have Canelo by UD with the possibility of scoring a KD. Too young, too motivated, and too gawd damn strong.
GGG couldn’t hurt Canelo 4yrs ago at a lower weightclass…he’s not going to now.
Same way marquez couldn't hurt pacquiao at lower weights?
It's not just me saying this. People at the conference today though the same thing. Even fanboy extraordinaire Eddie Hearn thought Saul looked off. People around him could definitely notice something was up.

Perhaps, but a lot of people are seeing this same thing. As I wrote on Twitter on September 9:
"With 8 days before #CaneloGGG3, @GGGBoxing acts like he's going to a dinner party while Canelo acts like he's going to his own execution. Hmmm."
Exhibit A.
A guy coming up 8 pounds is gonna have an easier camp compared to someone having to come down, at a minimum, 7 pounds. Wasn't Clenelo in the 180s on fight night vs Bivol?
Anger could be a good thing if it's not being manufactured or forced like Canelo appears to be doing here. He is doing his best to motivate and hype himself up after coming off a loss. However, it's fake. It's all a big put on!
His sentiments toward Golovkin in their rematch back in 2018 were sincere, genuine and real. GGG was doing a lot of shit-talking back then by calling him a doper, juicer and a steroid cheat.
However, that was four years ago before Golovkin's physical decline. Which is a long time in boxing years. What I find so ironic is that Canelo wouldn't fight the GGG trilogy bout with Oscar De La Hoya and Golden Boy but now he is willing to fight it for Eddie Hearn and Matchroom.

Your cousin might be on to something! Your cousin might actually get me to bet on GGG by KO :lol1:
That's what he is going for. In the UK, Golovkin is 8-1 to win by KO/TKO or DQ. So even just £100 bet wins £800 if it comes off. Good odds for a puncher like Golovkin, especially as we do not know how Canelo is feeling mentally after his first loss in 9 years. Cash in
- - Canelo shook cuz he know U billionaire fight picker and Ring curse him 20-0 in Ring prefight picks like they did him vs Bivol.
How much U clear this fight. Couple mil?
:lol1::lol1::lol1: That's right! I forgot! Just like Bivol, 20 people over at The Ring Magazine are picking Canelo to win, many of whom are picking Canelo to win by KO. Same shit they said about Canelo and Bivol .
I wonder how many people are going to unsubscribe to that magazine if GGG KO's Canelo? Who wants to read a magazine where no one knows what the fuck they're talking about? :lol1:

Exactly!! I'm listing to a podcast right now, that was made a couple days ago, and they are saying the exactly same thing. I'm hearing it from others too now.
People were saying canelo was very uptight during the 2nd fight's conferences and weigh-in, but canelo ended up beating ggg and making a mess out of his face. Don't take what you see during pre-fight conferences/weigh-ins at face value.
Weird. I saw that and don't remember any of that happening. Can you link something to show what you are talking about? Thanks.
Neither man is afraid or “shook”. Only one shook is the drama queen making this dumb post.
Guys get shook all the time. It happens. Even to pros.

This could indeed be a problem. I am not a "weight-cutting** expert"'; but the experts I respect try to limit the period of severe dehydration to the shortest possible duration; typically a day or less. Prolonged dehydration can be very debilitating and can take a while to recover from.
During the lead-up to this fight I noticed that Canelo seemed both to be carrying more bodyfat than usual (for 168lbs) and also less muscle mass. I of course do not know what Canelo's weight or bodyfat % was before he began dehydrating himself, but one additional advantage of being lean (aside from the performance benefits in the ring) is that muscle contains far more water than does bodyfat, so a boxer with 6% bodyfat who weighs 185lbs "pre-dehydration" will have a much easier time getting down to 168lb than an identical boxer who weighs 185lbs at 12% bodyfat.

Interesting. Thanks for that comment. I wasn't aware of that it's easier to dehydrate with more muscle mass. Very interesting.
Well he’s looking into the face of a man that most people believe beat him twice, he knows that’s what people think too.
but in reality, How many times have people said that a certain fighter looks shook or nervous and it hasn’t shown in anyway when the bell rings.
They’ve had over 100 pro fights between them, so I don’t really think any of them are going to be particularly nervous or shook
Guys get shook all the time? What do you mean? The difference is that they're professionals and know how to harness that anxiety. But guys get shook all the time. I have to laugh at all the fanboys on here triggered by this thread, but I didn't make it to troll.
There's a number of reasons why someone might be shook. They could have suffered an injury in camp and know they aren't at their best. Or maybe the weight cut is not going to plan, and there's fear that the belts might be lost on the scale. There could be a number of things to take one guy out of that mental space you want to be in. Who knows.
What I do know is that Canelo looks tense AF. He's not himself, and this is not how he was before. Eddie Hearn even said that he'd never seen him like this before. One of the commentators said something to the same effect. And MANY people have been saying this all week. It was just patently obvious to me at this press conference.
We'll see. But if you were to bet on an underdog, this would be the time.

Except...I've seen Canelo when he's confident and relaxed, as he was during the week leading up to his demolition of Callum Smith. This isn't that Canelo.
You could be very right. But what do you think about Canelo hitting the sauna first thing on his arrival to Vegas? I mean, I could be wrong, but you want to hit the sauna 24 to 18 hours before the weigh-in. Am I right? This was like 72 hours before the weigh-in? Maybe 96 hours before the weigh-in? He's literally trying to squeeze every milliliter of water out of his body. It's as if he's mummifying himself.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong here, but that just seems like there's a problem.
