Slim, lanky, Tommy hearns type (although I'm actually bigger than Tommy in terms of my back and shoulders I think). Hearns is 185, I:m. 186.
Would you say since that time Cus was right?
Is it really thT common as he says for guys with my structure to punch the hardest?
My form is amateurish, but so is most of todays boxers, so ignore that. Just stick to power.

The other types would be Mike Tyson, Tank, and a third type being FRANK Bruno, Wladimir Klitchko.
Thoughts on the likes of David Tua, Archie Moore, and George Foreman?
Foreman had probably the heaviest jab of all time. My favorite jab. He was a heavy puncher but tended to use a lot of arm punches. David Tua was probably similiar power-wise to Foreman. Heavy handed.
Archie Moore solid, orthodox boxing power.
He had a padded up record. Anybody who had a strong chin went the distance with him.. He did not have Wilder type KO power. Larry holmes believe it or not had been floored several times in his career. And when he faced Tyson he was 38.
Tyson hit punches that they couldn't see. It wasn't raw power that did it. The one exception being his KO of Henry Tillman.
When he koed Botha, Botha stepped into the punch. That's the only really tough chin Tyson KOed and he got help

And Mike Tyson is not a huge puncher when he has 44 KOs from his 50 wins? 90% of his fights don't even go beyond the fifth round.

Hagler isn't stocky. Marciano is a complete outlier in everything.
Tyson was not a huge puncher.
What do you mean? Hagler is well built.

Well I am no expert on biomechanics, but I wouldn't specifically imply that lanky people are the hardest hitting boxers when you also have examples such as Hagler, Tyson, Marciano, and etc.

Again, I see you aren't wearing boxing gloves. Again, I see you are just throwing a lead straight, instead of combinations (with hooks and overhands). You might want to find a bareknuckle forum to post on. Here, we talk about boxing, not bareknuckle. You'll get better feedback on a forum such as that. In fact, I'm not sure why you are not posting on Sherdog.com. That's where you should be posting on.

I agree.. I will do with gloves next time and combos.
Btw here's how my mechanics look on a different surface shadow boxing. https://youtube.com/shorts/B-XHfnb5QKc?feature=share
You will notice there that I have much more knee spring. The sticky floor in that gym alters my mechanics.
BUT, a lot of people have recommended that it's better to punch with no discernable sink, because sinking telegraphs. What is your stance on that? Do both?
So this is good. impact in other words since it did not fly around.

Okay man. When I first saw . It'll fly around because of how light it is. Also, keep in mind that, generally, if the heavy bag is flying around, it means your punching technique is off.
Good luck.

Okay. Sure. Where's that 10 second video? You're going to have a hard time convincing anyone here that what you're saying is true. You better make another video with more footage of those sledgehammer fists you have :lol1:
BTW: I thought you were much younger than 33. This is crazy.
Yeah the age thing is part of the tragedy. I found out that I had a natural ability to punch when I was 28. I didn't even go there for that. I started boxing to prove to the Karate guys that I could handle the boxers strength and conditioning classes.
I did think for myself: hope I'm a puncher. . Since those guys were my idols. The heavy hitters. I never liked the finesse fighters. They take advantage of the rules. The power hitters are the real fighters to me. They can fight any sport, any situation...real warriors. Finesse fighters are just playing a game.
Anyway, that's my story. Thanks for listening
I have hit a real heavy one, with gloves, when I boxed and it sounded like contruction work. You could not talk in the gym when I swung on the bag.
They had us lined up and throw our hardest punch. The coach stopped at every guy with a comment. Then he came to me and just went right past me when I hit it.
The guy holding the pad asked me not to hit my full power. I still did. ***** can go somewhere else if he can't take it.
He also called on the coach telling him he can't take it anymore in his arm. The coach said: he is strong.. I am just going to get him to relax.
So I already know! Just testing you guys, but you wouldn't play.

Okay man. When I first saw this thread, I thought you were trolling. But I can see that you are very serious. I'm going to repeat everything I initially said. If you want to know whether you punch hard, you're going to have to fight someone. Simple as that. That's how you know.
That aside, when I'm in the gym, you can tell when someone is hitting a heavy bag with a lot of power. It has a distinctive sound. This doesn't necessarily say that you hit hard, but if you are hearing this, then you can be sure the guy isn't hitting with a lot of power.
Here's an example of someone who is hitting the bag but not necessarily with a lot of power:

Now here's an example of someone hitting the heavy bag with KO power:
https://www.youtube.com/shorts/bXy_zcDmrvU
(It should sound like a gunshot or the crack of a whip.)
There's a big difference. If you want to compare, you'll have to hit a bag that weighs a lot more than that little kid bag you have. It'll fly around because of how light it is. Also, keep in mind that, generally, if the heavy bag is flying around, it means your punching technique is off.
Good luck.

I wonder though. If you can only train with ****ty gloves or no gloves, would you really pick ****ty gloves? They feel too artificial.
I have wallmart everlast gloves.
What's the model? For hitting a heavy bag, they should be fine, especially because I assume they are unused. Some are trash but some are okay. The big issue is the lack of durability. Within several months they'll start to deteriorate. But I'm asking is to hit a 100/150 pound heavy bag for 10 seconds. I'm sure they'll be fine. Do you have hand wraps?
You wanted hooks. Maybe now you can see..
Puncher or Pauli. Maligniaggi?

But the op doesn't seem open to a reasonable conversation. He .
Cus D'amoto claimed that people with lighter, skinny physique could rotate their hips further, and with a lighter arm could generate massive torques.
So it's a combination of weight placement and skeletal structure
My coach had a Hearns type physique (including reach) and he was by far the hardest puncher in there. Me and him blasted the hardest.
He was wrong in my opinion.
Punchers come in all different heights and sizes.
The Hearns type of fighters have the illusion of more power because they are so huge compared to their opponents. They are able to load up on ****s from a safer ranger because of the reach and height differences.
This is no disrespect to Hearns to be clear. But don't fool yourself into thinking that power only comes in one form.
I'm not even all that familiar with the quote or what might have been the context, but I feel like the goal post was also moved from skeleton structure like Hearns (think tall and long reach) to skinny and wiry (which is not a skeletal feature). But the op doesn't seem open to a reasonable conversation. He seems to have started the thread to get validation from people on the internet about his punching power and is very argumentative with anyone that's not giving him that validation.
