Michael Benson @MichaelBensonn
Chris Eubank Jr says he will only be at 60% due to the weight restrictions, but that will be more than enough to beat Conor Benn on Oct 8th…
What do you guys think about Eubank Jr admitting to the public that he will be impacted heavily due to the weight restrictions and not close to his best? Do you guys find his honesty refreshing or do you guys have a problem with this? You would almost surely have to bet on Benn after Eubank Jr all but admitted he's doing this for the payday and he will be compromised making the 157 pound limit as well as the next day weigh-in, right?
Cool novel.
Not a thing.
You win or you lose. There is no try.
I thought you said he wasn't ignorant princekool?
It's a potentially dangerous cut.
I'd say more but it's already proven to be pointless.
No. It is science mate.
A fighter being forced to make a weight, he has never fought at professionally before is? Going to effect his performance and training negatively. Eubank Junior is going to have to adapt somewhere in his camp, he is venturing into the unknown.
It is not excuse, it is just the reality of the requirements. The catch weight and re-hydration clause is the biggest challenge here for Eubank Junior.
Ether you can overlook that, but if you are honest with yourself? Which I think you are, I don't think you are a ignorant poster.
So sort yourself out mate. After this post, just be honest with yourself and start speaking more sense on the thread. You can do it, you are not a ignorant poster.
Deep down, you know these mandates and re-hydration clauses are the only chance Conor Benn and their team have to make this fight competitive.
Chris Eubank Junior is not making excuses, he is explaining to the public the sacrifices and mandates he must adhere to 'In order to make the fight happen'.
I know it is frustrating all this talk of fighters making weights. Well, I have been a proponent of bringing back the same day weigh in rule for quite sometime.
That way, fighters won't be able to force other fighters to fight at catch weights or set these opportunistic re-hydration clauses. No fighters will have any excuses, because the weight draining culture in the game will be obliterated.
You may get some fighters who try to weight drain themselves under the same day weigh in rule 'But those fighters will learn the hard way, that it is not the right thing to do'.
It is still a interesting fight, but the catch weight and re-hydration clause has just taken that edge of the fight for me. I think it was unnecessary, but that is only Team Benn doing their best to protect and create opportunity for their fighter 'Hearn is actually doing a great job with his career'.

It’s not a thing. It’s an excuse fans and fighters make to excuse losses of fighters they like, and discredit wins of fighters they don’t like.

Fighters can be weight drained in their normal division if they are too heavy going into camp...wtf are you talking about? You can say "he signed up for this so he shouldn't use it as an excuse" but you can't say "there's no such thing".
Benn suggesting that Eubank suggested it is silly, obviously Benn's camp put that in the contract.

Fight won't happen if those sets of conditions are not met. These are grown ass men, not clumsy teenagers, who can't take responsibility for their actions.
Yes that is right mate.
There is no way, Team Eubank suggested or come up with the idea of the catch weight and re-hydration clause. All of these mandates have been created to increase the likely hood of a Conor Benn win 'If Eubank Junior did not agree to these mandates the fight would not of happened'.
Eubank Junior is the villain here.
When the Kell Brook fight was being talked about for Benn, there was even talks of that fight being down at 147 'Even thought Brook had made it clear that he would really struggle to make that weight'.
I don't quite think it is Conor Benn coming up with these mandates, it is his team. He is pretty much Eddie Hearn's top-3 favorite fighter, Hearn is going to do all he can to protect and promote him 'Hearn is doing a good job'.
Yea it's a little weird how Benn doesn't think that his team was responsible for that...he doesn't seem very bright.
There's no such thing as being "weight drained" when you're fighting at a catchweight you negotiated and agreed to.
That doesn't exist. It's not a thing.
Eubank is going to go in there and he is going to win or he is going to lose. There's nothing else to it.

People seem to be making this out to be a low level Dawson-Ward where Chad said he'd go down to 168. From that video, it doesn't appear that Eubank suggested the weight. He said he was given options and said he can make the weight, Conor was saying why did you agree to it then?
That's not the same as Eubank calling him out at the lower weight. It seems like they had a back and forth about the weight until Eubank agreed to a limit he could make.
Yes that is right mate.

Not giving Benn much chance, but weak to see Jr getting the excuses out there early in case he loses.
This is where your mistaken. With a cw and hydration clause it's to weaken opponent so Benn has a great chance. In fact he might win every round like floyd did with nelo,
Wasn't aware of a Rehydration Clause too, yeah this is complete BS
Eubank agreed to such Nonsense and he also would rather call out and try to fight Little Guys instead of fighting the very best at 160-168 so this is 1000% on him and if he lose because of it no excuses
I mean if Eubank is going to be drained, you're not??? He's not even hiding the fact he could make the weight and the next day weigh-in limit comfortably lol.
I'm not sure. I wouldn't be completely surprised if Benn pulls it off. 157 is low for a guy who used to campaign at super middleweight.
What are you trying to prove? You posting a video, is NOT disproving that the catch weight and re-hydration clause are going to negatively effect Eubank Junior's preparation 'That is the biggest challenge for Eubank Junior here' I don't think team Benn would of taken this fight without the mandates.
I watched the entire press conference, I don't need to watch the video.
You proving nothing, with these video's you know mate. I have no idea why you are posting them.
Team Eubank Junior did not come up with these mandates, they did not suggest the re-hydration clause.
I'm not trying to disprove the catchweight is going to negatively effect Chris, obviously it will.
I'm saying thats his own problem, he suggested it because he thinks it'll be easy.
It's all in the presser that you have already watched and don't need me to show you.

1min 17.
Also mentioned in another video from the presser too. I'll find it if you need it.

I wouldn't be surprised if Eubank put the weight out there and Connors team just called the bluff.
At the end of the day. That's his problem, shouldn't have suggested it.
