Why was is it easier to make Fury vs Wilder than it is to make Spence vs Crawford when both are much bigger than Wilder and Fury?

It’s now or never for the Crawford/Spence fight if they want to have it while both are still widely perceived as the 2 best. For some fans, that ship has already sailed.

Explain????? When it comes to popularity, it seems as though both Spence and Crawford are much more known with better resumes than both. Because fury was inactive with no momentum when the wilder vs Fury fight was signed. It was a easy negotiation. Fury was just an opponent going into the first fight. Spence vs Crawford is a legacy fight. They deserve to be paid career high guarantees

Fury v Wilder 1 wasn't some best v best contest. It was a disgraced former champion clinging onto lineal status against a guy with no credible previous opponent. That's why it got made - both thought the other was an easy mark and both were going to get what they needed. Actual big fights are hard to make. There's just not that much to gain from them. And plenty to lose.

Give them the money Fury Wilder got and the fight is made, its very different in the lower weights.

Fury and Wilder wanted the fight and were both willing to give a little to make it work. Crawford and Spence from what I can tell aren't willing to give so that's the difference.

Main difference is Fury’s stock was at an all time low after having to drop his head title due to failed tests, drug and alcohol issues, and long layoffs. Fury wasn’t in a powerful position to negotiate. Honestly it was as much about Wilder trying to cherry pick a big name but Fury was just all wrong style wise and was motivated as hell on fight night. Both Bud and Spence feel they have a claim to be A side here.

Crawford and Spence both want to fight each other. It’s getting harder to actually believe that. I honestly think the reason the fight seems close now is that neither wants to risk losing to the very talented young guns they’ll no doubt have to deal with if they stick around. The big payday is gone at that point.
