I just take a look on top 10 by boxrec. We have got 7 undefeated guys in first 10.
Crawford, Spence, Ennis, Ortiz jr, Crowley, Stanionis, Benn
I can only give some credit to Stanionis, who just beat Butaev, who was also undefated.
When will other guys face some threats?
It's funny looking back at how promising 140-147 was 10 years ago. Loaded with newcomers or big names like Thurman, Porter, Bradley, Maidana, Danny Garcia, Brook, Khan, Matthysse, Alexander, Broner, Ortiz, Mike Jones, Provodnikov, Rios, Andre Berto, Guerrero, etc.
But most of these motherfuckers (not all) didn't fight each other until they already peaked, or they were no longer in the top 10.
So I guess I mean to say, even if the division was stacked like it was, we'd still probably end up underwhelmed or disappointed.
I mean, anybody seriously believes Ugas was a bigger threat for Spence than Ortiz jr. would be?
And why we all pretend like Porter was a threat for Crawford?
Cmon folks. I just want fighters to take challenges.
When will Crawford or Spence fight Ennis?
Crawford and Spence are about the fight each other? Is that good enough for you?

I would give Spence much more credit for beating Stanionis for example or if you want Ortiz jr. or Ennis or Benn. Yes.
Ugas is just not that good, he is pretty much Clottey 2, the only reason he beat Pacquiao was Pac was old and shot.
I guess Butaev would also beat that old Pacquiao.
Ugas also beat Shawn Porter but got robbed.
lol @ even mentioning Conor Benn. He won't even fight Avanesyan who in turn won't fight Vergil Ortiz.

You're nuts. Plus Spence is in negotiations now to fight Crawford, but I have a feeling you'll dismiss that.
So should Spence have fought Buteav instead of Ugas?

I don’t think he’s saying Staniosis has a better resume. I Jin’s see where he’s coming from. There’s lots of good fighters here, but not the fights we want to see

You're giving credit to Staniois for his resume, but downplaying Spence? lol
Ok buddy.

division sucks same as the lightweight one. a load of fighters just desperate to cling to their '0' without doing anything. spence v crawford probably wont happen either
The immediate glaring example being Conor Benn.
Why? From all guys I listed nobody fought nobody.
So you are happy with Spence beating guys that were all beaten before?
And Crawford beating shot Khan and Brook?
And Ennis and Ortiz jr. beating no-hopers?

You must be trolling.

Being undefeated means nothing when that comes against nobodies and Crawford’s case, past good fighters of 135lbs.
Ugas was not undefeated and he was not a threat for Spence.
Ugas was absolutely a threat. No one knew how Spence would show up after the surgery+long layoff. He isn’t the same fighter anymore, and he still isn’t after the win.
Spence vs Crawford is the only big fight happening in this division. Granting their fight happens in November, then winner/loser would have to take at least 3-5 months break before taking their next fight. Is Ennis willing to wait that long?
