Why aren’t some critics honest about fighters they don’t like?

If there is never anything a fighter you hate can do to impress you or for you to show even an ounce of praise towards them, why care to voice your opinions on who he should fight? Really…serious question. A fighter can fight anyone his critics are accusing him of ducking, one by one, and the critics never give any credit whatsoever. I consider myself an honest person, my words are true. When I don’t like a fighter, and give my thoughts and opinions of what this fighter I am highly critical of needs to do to make me a fan. On the other hand, I have no double standards. If a fighter I am a fan of avoids the best and gives me no reason to continue being a fan, I become highly critical of them. e.g. Andrade and Crawford, I was a fan, but they turned me away. Or Lomachenko and Usyk, I was highly critical and unimpressed of them in my posts, but they won me over. Even Lomachenko with his loss to Lopez. Speaking of Teo Lopez, I was a supporter of his, but became critical of him due to his behavior towards Lomachenko for a rematch. But it just seems like this concept is lost on many critics. Why not just be straight and say a fighter that you hate can’t ever change your mind on him? Stop naming names left and right when you know you don’t care whether said fighter fights the guy you want him to fight. Those are signs of being fake, dishonest, and not genuine in your critique. There isn’t one fighter I don’t like right now, who can’t do anything to make me a fan. Literally all fighters I am critical of, I would praise if they proved me wrong. But it just seems that is not normal among a lot of boxing fans. If you hate a fighter because he is “black and ghetto”, then stop talking about who he should fight. You don’t care about his resume or who he fights. So stop. Nobody believes that your demands being met will actually lead to you praising the fighter. Likewise, if you don’t like some white fighter who is ranked in the top 3, like Tyson Fury, Lomachenko, Usyk, Canelo, GGG, Taylor, okay…then don’t like them, you’re free to not like them because they are white. But stop pretending all they need to do is go through your unreasonable imaginary obstacle course to win you over. Just say you will never like them no matter what, and move on. Go cheer for whatever fighter it is that does it for you.

you should come into the lounge then :lol1: I'll check it out. I think there would be a special subsection in the Thunderdome where there are gyms members can go to and spar each other. (Maybe there is already?). I think that would be fun.

I grew up with friends from everywhere. From Colombia to India. From Egypt to America (the multicultural melting pot). I think it's healthy for people to grow up being exposed to as many ethnicities and cultures as possible. You learn quickly that everyone is the same. Same here man.:beerchug:

If he's banned, that's not the reason. I got him banned a few times before and got that BS erased. He put it back on and it was OK. Anyway, I was just kidding. I'd never put anything like that on my profile. I've white friends. My sons are also half white. I grew up with friends from everywhere. From Colombia to India. From Egypt to America (the multicultural melting pot). I think it's healthy for people to grow up being exposed to as many ethnicities and cultures as possible. No. It's a problem. I'm not sure why someone hasn't done something about that. I haven't seen him around for awhile though, and I'm not surprised. If he's banned, that's not the reason. There's a stinky guy, full of pee and poo, who has "Afrocutioner" under his filthy name. Do you think it'd be acceptable if I put "White Killer" under mine? No. It's a problem. I'm not sure why someone hasn't done something about that. I haven't seen him around for awhile though, and I'm not surprised.

Good post. I knew you were a Latino and also work in corrections if I remember correctly what you told us on here. We've been around quite long. I know all about racism on here. Now the site is kinda going down with the rules not being enforced and enforced only one way, as you mentioned. It's also a waste of time to use the reporting function. Nothing is done. I used to care a lot about this place. Slowly I'm honestly losing complete interest in the site and don't be surprised if I just disappear suddenly from here. I'm tired of all the racist crap, known alts, and the nonenforcement of the rules. Anything goes on NSB these days. Cheers, Kev, and thank you for sharing and being a cool guy to talk with all these years. Some people are just irrational with their hatred for someone. A guy can post here that if a fighter beats a particular fighter then they'll give them full credit, or that particular fighter will beat said fighter, then after the fight, totally flip flop on it and act like it was a cherry pick. Realistically, it's sad more than anything. It's really not that serious. I used to hate Carl Froch, thought he was total garbage actually, then when he kept beating the fighters I picked him to lose against, I became a fan. That's how a rational brain should work. Hell no lol. He hasn’t done sh/t yet. The day he does, I would give him his just due. But...but...you don't think he's being avoided, do you? Plant and now Morrell, same age as DB. I won't even mention Charlo because he's not in his division. But the story says Charlo started the trash talking, and DB was just returning the favor... It's hard to be consistent, isn't it brah?

But I don’t see black posters going around making threads labeling boxers as “white trash”. Meanwhile, I saw a thread just in the past month, of a poster discussing the most “ghetto” boxers. An obvious race bait thread to talk sh/t about black fighters. Also, while I am not black, when I first started posting here, my support for some black boxers got me negative red karma calling me the N word with the -er and other racist remarks regarding my “race” and apparently my supposed black skin color. I was 17 years old when I first started posting here. I was literally a child, a minor. And had, possibly grown ass men, being racist as fck towards me. I sh/t you not, posting in boxingscene actually taught me how racist people are towards black people, personally. Like I am not talking about stuff we see in the news about black people getting shot by police or whatever, that’s just news, and news can be twisted into whatever narrative depending on the news channel’s political ideology. But to personally read first-hand racism, towards me; that happened in NSB back when you can leave karma with comments. I am a bit of a white-ish Latino, so to me it was kind of funny, but also sad. Like racism really exists. It’s not just people being “cry babies”. It is a very real thing. Good post. Usually it's actually not personal against the boxer but it's a fanbase rivalry thing. I don't really have any opinion either way on Deontay Wilder but his fans are fugging annoying, same with Lomachenko and Usyk. People love to cry racist because I love winding up Wilders ******ed black power fans but I also go in HARD on loma and Usyk's skinhead fanclub, again I have nothing against those fighters personally they seem "OK", hard to tell because other than pulling silly faces I can't say much about Usyk's personality. He could be an autistic savant who's skill is in boxing for all I know. I mean I’ve known you as a poster since 2009 and you have never given me racist vibes. I also have you on FB and even though I don’t really get on much, i’ve never seen you post racist crap there either. And believe me I have like 50% Trump supporting list of friends from when I lived in Ohio and worked there as a corrections officer for county jail and prison, so I have read all kinds of crazy things, and have unfortunately heard some really racist comments from some white officers who feel too comfortable talking. I have seen some associates get banned from FB for going overboard with the racism.
