Oh man Benn's last fight was Chris Van Heerden. It's a step down fight.
Don't know why boxing commissions allow these dangerous mismatches to happen.
I won't mention UK specifically because it happens everywhere.
It's discouraging for any fighter to feel he's not ready for prime time. I'd feel very low
if I'm that fighter.
I'm very confused. On one hand they say he's not ready for prime time. Yet they hate him (Connor Ben) when he fights the fights he's currently fighting. It's confusing.
Of course he's ready. He would blast all these B-level guys Ennis has been fighting, Clayton, Dulorme, Lipinets, Abreu.
He is 25 old pro with the record 21-0.
And he fights the same level opposition as Ennis who is more experienced pro with 29 -0 record.
Benn is good. I mean 2 years ago people talked about him like he was a bum. Give him his time.
Yep, 29 fights and his first step up fight was a blown up guy named Lipinets, who is now back to 140.
Ennis' best win. Kills me.

He's had 21 fights and is 25 years old.
3 years ago he was universally recognised as a bum.
Relax, he's doing well. The fact you are talking about him, considering where he was not so long ago proves how well he's doing.
nobody would have problem with it if both of them STFU about how "Benn Is Ready For The Best" "Benn Can Beat This Or That Guy..." Blah Blah Blah only for them to announce he is fighting a washed up opponent who are Common Opponents of Top Guys but from YEARS AGO
Show us you're one of the best instead of him and Eddie trying to Talk people into believing he is on the Level of Boots, Vergil Ortiz, Stanionis and the rest of those Next ERA of Welterweights after Spence and Bud
He’s nowhere top 10 for me. He’s unexposed so I can’t completely rule him out but Benn is a one dimensional pressure fighter IMO. I’m pretty confident the first guy who forces him on the back foot will beat him.
All I can do is speculate
He would lose momentum eventually. Even when fighting Van Heerden types back to back. Right now he's in his element and I would rather pit him against the top guys now than later, if I were in full control of his fights.
We all have our own ups and downs. Not all fighters are fit in every fight. But Benn has been consistent. Mark my word, he'll eventually lose to a C-level fighter and not even get to fight at top level.
That would be what my concern would be all about if I were one of his caregivers.
He would eventually lack motivation fighting all these Van Heerden level opponents.
What's the point of fighting this level when at the end of the fight the media would just
sneer at you like all the efforts that have been put in were nothing.
What seems hilarious to me is they're afraid of pitting Benn against guys whose records are not any better.
Ennis has been fighting Lipinets-level. Ortiz has been fighting left-overs. It took him 7 rounds to stop Vargas,
while Benn stopped him in the first round, and those fights were only one year apart.
Hooker was a career 140 when Ortiz fought him at welter and was a Ramirez left-over.
I don't really see anything much more impressive. I doubt Kavaliauskas would even last 6 rounds vs Benn.
Yeah, Ava's world level. Benn is a top ten-ish guy most likely. Unfortunately, he's being babied.

Would love to see him do well Nigel was my favourite fighter as a kid and to be fair hes gona a lot further so far than I expected
he looked British title level at best a few years ago now hes say Euro level and on the edge of World level but if he fought the top guys right now he would lose for sure so Hearn is going to cash in at some point once theres enough hype
I don’t see it. Depends on your definition of world level, but for me you have to have competed and succeeded at world level to be world level.
Would you consider Avanesyan world level for example? He’s a European level guy for me.
I wouldn’t know what level Benn is cause they’re so opposed to putting him in with anybody with a pulse.

Conor Benn is doing well. If he did not big himself up all the time, and call out fighters he really should be respecting a bit more? Nobody would be complaining about his opponents.
Benn really had no amateur career, and had to learn things as a professional.
Sooner of later he will have to back up his talk. He talks as if he is the best Welter Weight in the UK.
But is he? I think people within boxing understand that if he really wanted to he could bypass many levels. And this is thanks to his name, and father's legacy.
People on here criticize Chirs Eubank Junior, but I think he has taken big fights and big challenges. Billy Joe Saunders, James Degale, Liam Williams, George Groves. Those are really big fights. Then of course he has had solid fights just below that level and won. Eubank Junior won the British title.
Nothing stopping Benn from fighting for the British title. A fight like that would be more meaningful than his last fight.
I have no problem with it. When you don’t have a belt you can fight who you want.
He’s been improving steadily so why not give him a few more fights before a world title shot?

he seems to be improving, thought he would get absolutely nowhere at one point, now he should win a world title at somepoint, i think slow and steady is actually best for him, some guys dont make a big move until they are almost 30 and have a few good years after that if they can and make some decent cash
Conor is probably world level but he gotta get taken out of the bubble wrap.

No. They’re conning the mentally feeble into believing Conor is something he is not. Ekow Essuman vs Conor Benn is a 50/50 fight for me. Yet delusional morons try tell you Conor is “world level”.
