And he takes a tuneup for a comeback fight, he wins but gets battered,
does it make sense for fans to give him an instant excuse and say, "Oh he's been off for a year,
what do you expect?" Instead of giving more credit to the opponent.
Because fans are huge hypocrites. They only care about their fighters' well being. They allow soft touches, yet what about the overmatched opponent, who gets paid a tenth of what the main fighter gets? It's no different from being thrown in a fight against a fully-roided guy. Where is the concern for this overmatched guy? "Oh these guys are risking their lives doe." GTFOH.
Why do you think some fans tolerate such thing?
Allowing long vacationers make ready-made long layoff excuse
and not hold them accountable as if it's someone else's fault.
To make it fair, I laud Spence for saying he's not taking anymore soft touches.
He wants all the big fights available. So why make excuses for others?
I rate Spence Junior win vs Danny Garcia the best of his career.
I did not expect him to take on such a big fight, straight away after his accident.
Even if he did not have a accident, facing Danny Garcia is probably more of a test than most of Terrence Crawford's fights at Super Welter Weight etc.
