The dude is almost a perfect fighter. He has a good defense, great counter-punching, great accuracy, the best jab at 147, can fight on the inside and outside, is arguably the hardest puncher at 147, and he is the most athletic.
I see him and Crawford getting into a firefight and Ennis catching Crawford and stopping him in the late rounds. I see Spence and Ennis having a war but Ennis being able to fight in the pocket just as good and Spence, plus being bigger, faster, and more athletic, will win him a decision. Thoughts?
Ennis checks all the boxes for sure but until he fights at least one upper level opponent, we shouldn’t be claiming outrageous things like he beats Spence or Crawford.
Nobody good will fight Ennis anytime soon at 147 -154.
This dude is a monster. He will be avoided fighter, than he will pick a vacant belt and make like 6 defenses against low opposition, stopping all his opponents.
Than somebody good will step up and fight him for a payday, beat him and he will get no credit for that. Than everybody will be like "Ennis was never good".
He will go Wilder route.
Doubt it. The longer these guys wait to fight him, the worst it will get for them. Ennis is only going to continue getting better and better.
He will pick up the IBF belt soon and hopefully gets a big name that way. Ennis won't get Spence or Crawford until 154, if at all. Let's see if he can get Benn or Ortiz before he moves up.
Very possibly
Spence and Crawford are at the back end of their careers. Spence even said he’s not the same fighter he was pre crash ‘but still good enough to beat most of these guys’
My question is how much dog he has him. Will he fold when he’s in a gruelling fight. Etc
They will serve Ugas up for Boots next watch. Ugas seems like he will fight anyone and he's not worth much to PBC now that he lost to Spence. He is a known name and would be a big step up in competition for Boots but Ennis would still be favored to win handily I am guessing.
Even if Ugas begins asking for the fight, they won’t feed him to Ennis coming off a loss to Spence. They will make him fight Butaev or Jamaal James…then Ennis.
I can’t see Thurman taking this fight especially after barely skating by a new WW in Barrios. Let’s see if they throw the bag at someone in the top 12-20 range next up.
Ennis isn’t getting Bud or Spence. The latter are starting to think HOF moves and best business practice going deeper into their 30’s.
Let’s see!

I like Boots
Just don’t think he’s got everything it takes to beat Bud or Spence right now
But he is on the right path , imo he needs a few more fights
Ugas fight would be a very telling story , as I don’t seeThurman being very competitive
You can definitely tell he’s a special fighter and not from tonight’s fight
I don’t think he beats either if they fought next. I wanna see Boots fight somebody who will test him. Would love to see him face Ugas or Thurman next. If he disposes of those guys then he’s unquestionably ready for the elite at 147.
I would like those fights but will Thurman fight him next? Boots got his way to a title shot so either the winner of Spence/Bud will have to fight him or he will get the vacant title shot. Once he wins a title, it will be a bit easier for him to get some big fights.
Both Spence and Crawford will be tough fights obviously, but I don't think people realize just how focused this young man is with his boxing. He does nothing else but stay in the gym and train. Crawford can switch and is a very good athlete yet Boots has even more athletic gifts than him. The Spence fight would be something to watch and I would love to see how he would handle a technical pressure fighter like Spence but Boots is very strong and will have his counter opportunities. He will also be able to land from the outside and would be able to jab with Spence.
PLEASE give us one of these two fights at either 147 or 154.
13 years :lol1:
Boots is talented and big enough move between 147-154 like Floyd did. Bud ain't safe jumping up in weight.
I think he could end up at 160.
Smoke? No, you aren't smoking someone like Spence or Crawford. But I've been telling RJJ-94-02=GOAT for a while that he beats both of them.

He will be the next reigning champ because Bud is gonna beat Spence then move up leaving all the belts vacant for Boots to clean up one by one. Ortiz will grab one and 13 years from now they'll fight for undisputed lol

Anyone can be smoked & there is nothing special about either of them tbh. Both world class but neither are anything special or too write home about.
Crawford would never take that fight anyway & I doubt Spence does either. They'd sooner finally fight each other than get that work.
Everyone is a monster fighting all these unproven unknown low-tiers. He stopped the glass chin Dulorme similarly. Who’s to say Clayton ever had any durability or balls? Lipinets who has a proven toughness (but zero defense) handled his punches (even that blatant rabbit punch, and many lowblows) much better. So just like what you saw with Zepeda, things change big time when you step up.
So why does Crawford get so much praise?
