Bivol is a young, good-looking, charismatic dude and now has an official win over Canelo. He has the skills to beat anyone under 200lbs and that includes Beterbiev.
He’s also a good humble dude inside and it shows.
His potential is unlimited.

I think Bivol will go the way of Andrade, he has no swag, doesn't speak English very well, and is Russian, which I hate to say it, the world prejudice against Russia is at the moment a all-time high level, then add to that a low KO percentage with defensive-minded basic soft wins in a big punching weight class, they are not ingredients of a boxing superstar.
Bivol will not capture the casual fan and to be a superstar that's what they must do, they must get the attention of casuals and Bivol just doesn't make enough noise to be heard where he needs to be heard.
If you don't have big KO power you better tap into the emotions of casuals because clean-cut technical boxing is boring to casuals, that's why Andrade is lamenting in a tryhard city with zero entertainment value.
He gonna start wearing the mexican garb now also? He beats anyone but Beterbiev handily from 168-175. Benavidez wanted that Canelo payday so bad, why doesn't he move up and fight Bivol now? He probably walks around at 200 lbs for christ sake
News Flash. GGG was not even a big star. Never drew. At least he was a KO artist. Bivol is an ABC decision machine. People will forget about him in a year.
He does not have the aura of Golovkin, even the Golovkin now.
Also? It was how Golovkin was winning. And the reaction of his opponents after the fight.
This all built up the aura which surrounded Golovkin.
I would say Bivol seems like a likable fighter. Jolly kind of individual so it seems.
There is still something Iron, something steel about Golovkin. I use those words, because when I think about him? For some reason those are the words that I wanted to write.
Yeah that is not happening, congrats to Bivol though he boxed Beautifully but that style on top of him being Russian (well technically he is Kyrgyz from Kyrgyzstan which is actually Central Asian but a lot of very ignorant people here in America who love "Labels" and love to Label people whoever), will make it Impossible to make him a "Bigger Star Than GGG" in this ERA
Also too as already mentioned by other poster, fighting at 175...that Division just never been popular for whatever reason and I'm talking about going all the way back to when Michael Spinks when he was dominating it and was Undisputed! Nobody Cared, all the attention was on The 4 Kings and Larry Holmes at Heavyweight around that time
Bivol usually fights with a big height disadvantage. he is undersized in his weight class.
Just stop with that staff " he beat smaller man". Canelo was seen as some p4p king s.hit megastar boxer who was believed by many casual fans to beat Bivol easily.
People’s pre-fight perceptions, particularly people who only casually follow the sport, is relevant how?
in this particular fight, Bivol used his height/reach advantage expertly.
Potentially, sure. If Bivol can prove he's on that level, which I'm doubting. He beat a really good fighter but he also had a big height/reach advantage that he won't always have.
Certainly getting the showcase Canelo fight fairly early in his career instead of almost at the end is nice.

I wonder if he will try to move down to 168 and make a run or up to cruiserweight? He will have a harder time at cruiserweight I believe. He could possibly be the rare fighter to go down if you believe what he says and is capable of making 168
