There you have it. Stop the bullshit. Canelo was the heavier man.
How can you be p4p king when you get your ass whooped by someone with less pounds than you.
I think a lot of people are severely underestimating the boxing skill and IQ of beterbiev, but let's debate it more when the fight is announced. I like Beterbiev in that fight.
I’ve been saying that for years. Beter hits so damn hard that people completely miss his technique and skills. Guy is a fantastic boxer
People also really slept on Bivol's skills and I'm worried they'll do the same with Artur.
Pressure fighters will always get hit more. But Beterbiev has a brilliant jab and outstanding footwork and knows how to break you down. Almost like a much bigger and more defensively responsible GGG.
This will be the classic boxer puncher vs. pressure fighter matchup.
I think Bivol will decision Beterbiev. His feet are too fast and he wouldn't take any unnecessary risks. Beterbiev defense is nowhere near as good, and Bivol's jab will keep him at bay

Me too, no point. Let Canelo do his thing at 168, no shame in losing to a master boxer Bivol. Then let Bivol face beterbiev.

wow. I wish more boxers disclosed their fight night weights. I missed tale of the tape. I hope Bivol doesn't go down to 168...

I see. My basis was just that I remember him being like 175 from the JMW days. And he clearly looks much much bigger now. He has to be at least 10lbs more than the 174 he was when he fought Angulo right? He looked a good 5lbs bigger when he fought Cotto a couple years later and has just blown up since then.
But true, size really meant nothing. Bivol was the superior boxer.
Canelo was 165 in the ring against Floyd, in the fight that everyone claims he was "drained to the bone"
I'll bet he could make 168 but I don't see the point. Maybe he'd rather just take the $$ vs. Canelo and not fight Betebiev. I cat blame him, but Beterbiev is the fight we need.
Bivol joked that if Canelo wants the rematch it should be at 168 for all of the belts.
Hoping it wasn't a joke TBH

Yeah, I hear ya. He won't be rehydrating as much these days - the body just can't healthily handle that kinda stress into your 30s (although you'd probably know better than me, ain't you like a personal trainer or something?) - but I can easily see him 10Lbs heavier in the ring than he was at 22 or 23 against Angulo for instance. Dudes's filled out a lot since then.

Even bulked up he was clearly the smaller man. It's not all about the weight.
175 just to much for him.
Bivol was taller, but as always, Canelo looked larger and thicker.
Yes, he says it here

The point is he gets the undisputed crown and gets the money against Canelo again.
Bivol says he wants the undisputed crown at 168

We've always known Bivol is a small LHW, years ago he was talking about going down to 168.
Beterbiev on the other hand will come in at 190-200. Stay away from that man.

I know. You need to go right back to his early JMW title days to find any figures (and he was a big boy then draining right down from the low 170s). I was just wondering on basis you were making the claim that Canelo was the 'heavier man', thought you might have some info I'd missed. Based on Bivols claim that he was 183 I'd guess they were about the same, probably within a Lb or 2 of each other in the ring. Either way although I don't really hold with P4P as a concept you make a reasonable point... and besides anyone with eyes should know that size wasn't the decisive factor here, Bivol was just the better boxer with the better plan on the night.

Just so people know how Clenny McButerol has been operating --->
UNOFFICAL WEIGH-INS
vs Angulo - 174
vs Lara - 171
vs Trout - 172
This guy has been stacking 16-20 lbs on fight night since forever. Nope, nobodies been cheating. :lol1:
Just dropping by to say the Lara fight he probably LOST, or atleast it was a CLOSE FIGHT!!!
Canelo is one of the few fighters I know who refuses to disclose his ring weight.

Do we have an unoffcial ring weight for Canelo? I'd not seen one although I'd expect it to be somewhere in the low to mid 180s too.
