Come in and be saluted
It's considered an upset so this makes your PRE FIGHT PICK that more epic
I picked Nelo and his experience to get him through, as did most of the BOXING EXPERTS.
This was one occasion where us fight fans didn't have to rely of a Fantasy Fight scenario. Nelo fought a live LHW. He wanted to find out if he could win titles in upper div.s Spoke about beating Usyk. I have no doubt had Nelo beaten Biv, Usyk was next on his to do list.
I salute those who picked Biv to win.
Having a pre fight comment to back it up is even more glorious :boxing: !
The event was not too big for Biv.
The scorecards were borderline criminal.
While Biv may have his number, it could be Nelo found his limit, weight wise.
Those who revel in his defeat should ask themselves how some other MW would have done
If that MW would have had the balls to have stepped to the challenge.
We all know who I'm referring to.
Ouma, Simon, Rubio, Ishida......smdh
I bet on Bivol at the sports book and if anybody think im bullshttin, I can post my stub.
It's not that people won't believe you, it's that people just don't care
Not saying you gotta do it for these guys but just forfuture reference cos it's a real useful one to know, you just put an '@' symbol in front of someone's username thusly: BodyBagz and it sends em a notification.
Thanks, bruh.
Don't understand all beter talk...beter could very well beat canelo or he may have outboxed beter in a close fight who knows
But most people on here acting like beter is a better fighter than bivol is absolutely ridiculous to me
If bivol and beter fight I honestly think beter gets taken to school and clown by bivol
Bivols distance shot picking timing and footwork along with his effortless turned over punches that do considerable damage easily makes him the favorite imo
The same was said of Gvodzyk
We all saw what happened there
I have only two posts regarding the fight.
When it was announced I mentioned the GGG trilogy was a gimme fight but that the Bivol match up was his most difficult style match up and that I was impressed he took it.
Only other comment on the fight was someone asked how does Bivol win. I pretty much said he just needs to be him and that even an elite fighter like Canelo would get frustrated.
I wouldn't say I outright said Bivol was gonna win win but I considered him a good favorite to win that fight in my eyes. Mainly because I always felt Bivol was a handful for anyone. Mainly because he is so economical and is a natural mover who does not ture himself out.
Yup same chit here
I over Bivol in this fight but truthfully thought he would get fughed hard on the cards
So went with Canelo dec close
Now had it been my guy , Beterbiev , I would of slammed the fughin house on it

i wastched some bivol fights in the last few weeks and had some concerns, i was rooting for canelo so just shy of picking bivol. biggest thing i saw was bivols foot work and handspeed. the unknown for me was how would bivol deal with a shorter guy coming in trying to rip him to the body because there isnt anyone like that at light heavy.
first 60 seconds of the fight i saw that not even the body shots were there for canelo to land, and bivol had so many options, he could either just back away using his superior foot speed or he could block them to the guard, canelo could barely land on him. that was the difference with everyone at 168 and kovalev, canelo couldnt break this guy down he could barely land and he was so tired in the late rounds.
Here ya go man, I'll start the list for ya. Just did a post on the Pick Em thread for all the Pick Em players who picked Bivol. Quite a number actually...that's 9 out of about 34 or 35 regular players - over 25% and there were a few more like me who thought Bivol would get stiffed on the cards.
I personally hedged it but wasn't confident enough to go with the full pick:

I hope everyone who has been on this site for a while knows I own my bad picks. Be glad to list them whenever anyone is curious. I am not a boxing soothsayer. I am a fan who tries to pick well.
I have been saying since before Alvarez unified the last 168 belt he would not beat Bivol or Beterbiev. It is not a slam against someone's legacy to say LHW is a step too high for him. Kovalev was already a damaged fighter when Alvarez beat him, his weaknesses were perfect for Alvarez strengths. Bivol was not that. A prime fighter who may not have great power for his division, but he is stronger than Alvarez and has zero technical weaknesses. If anyone wants me to prove it, said in the thread where Bivol talked about how Alvarez had weaknesses and had been beaten in the past that Bivol would handle his business. I respect Alvarez for reaching for greatness. No shame in losing to Bivol.
But honestly, I was shocked more people did not call for this. Bivol just is better at this weight.
Beterbiev would have ended Canelo within the early rounds. Now, can I PLEASE have my Beterbiev/Bivol unification so long as Smith does not upset my plans? Please??
i honestly believed bivol could pull it off just that he wasn't gonna get the nod since canelo always gets the benefit of the doubt, so happy to be wrong.
Didn't talk about the fight but told people at work bivol would school canelo and possibly get robbed ...and watching last night I knew bivol completely schooled canelo but was still unsure if he would get the decision
Just watching bivol take pascal to school and completely shut him out was enough for me to realise he would be able to do similar stuff to canelo
Pascal gets outboxed a lot but he counters similar to canelo, catches punches on the gloves and retaliates with fast hook counters that keep him in the fight....bivol avoided 99 percent of pascal's counters
I didn't think he could win a decision and from the scorecards, you see why. If Canelo had won the 12th, it would have been a draw. Scorecards were atrocious.
Don't know how :(
I salute them all now and individually should they visit.
Edit -
Some people came in not having picked Biv outright. Maybe, 50/50, none of the above.....

I predicted a close and potentially controversial decision for Canelo. I always knew it’ll be a much tougher fight than anyone at smw but didn’t think it’d be as one-sided as it was in the end. Salute to those who did.
