Paul Got two women paid in an epic way. He even got those of us who don't care for women's boxing interested... Imagine what he could do for Crawford. Paul is geniune and supportive of the fighters... He is young and idealistic still. I say if boxing is to be great again, lets get behind him!
Frustrating!!! Unrelated... There is no way Serano could win this fight... A puncher needs more rounds and more time... You cannot challenge a hurt opponent with two minute rounds. Great fight, but we were robbed of an epic round when Serano had Taylor in trouble.
But all things considered... no one is getting the nod against Taylor unless she goes down.
Paul is doing some good but his own fight career is embarrassing. Keeps picking guys lighter than him from other sports. He can box a bit but he's making money by tricking a lot of causal fans to buy into his fights. Should we respect someone who has made his money by misleading people?
He keeps beating ufc guys and thats good for boxing because ufc guys been talking chit on boxing for years
Bro you can fight an amazing fight but the only way tot get notice or buzz is to promote it, why do you got blinders on man? seriously get rid of that spite and bias against Paul, why did you develop this?
The guy got her noticed, Serrano credits Paul and so did Katie Taylor, even Eddie Hearn said Jake Paul promoting womens boxing and Serrano helped the event get big, Serrano got a lot of attention from the millions of Jake Paul fans, he put eyes on her
give the boy credit stop being so sensitive and spiteful man, the guy is good for boxing stop being in your feels
You keep crediting the fighters, but promotion and marketing is what gets fighters notice and womens boxing got very little promotion and Jake Paul helped this fight get massive.
Where’s the bias? I’ve said multiple times I’m fully behind him promoting and paying fighters.
If Serrano fights the #5 rated lightweight next time out do you think people will tune in? I’ll guarantee you they wouldn’t. Same way they didn’t care about her last two fights under Paul’s promotion/management. Same way nobody cared about Taylor’s previous fights aside from Persoon.
Taylor vs Serrano is an interesting fight and that’s why it sold well by women’s standards. It had little to do with Hearn, Paul and whoever else was promoting it.
Nobody gave a f*** about her last two fights. I certainly never watched them. Same with any of Katie’s fights aside from Persoon. Taylor and Serrano needed each other not Jake Paul. You just sound like a cuck for the YouTuber. I bet you’re a subscriber aren’t you. :lol1:

- - Not gonna deny the ladies the right to box, but there are rules to protect the men and rules to protect the ladies and n'er the two shall meet.
Perhaps so... But its never been good for boxing to try to limit rounds, time in rounds, etc... The things that are dangerous are more along the lines of fighters taking a lot of damage particularly at the lower weight classes.
I would be lyin' if I didn't say I felt the same way about watching women's sports lol. But this fight was a good one and it made me agree to check out some of the other great match ups when they come up for the women. If women are willing and able to do what the men won't and fight the best... there is a place for them in boxing IMO.

I think it’s very dangerous. Change isn’t always good. We don’t want boxing to become a soap opera were storylines become more important than competition.
If they’re going to help fighters that’s great, but them using boxing as a vehicle to monetise their following by putting on these circus fights involving YouTubers, MMA guys, celebrities etc massively hurts the sports credibility.
Its certainly a risk at times... Its entertainment and because of that there is room for the absurd. That risk might be the cross one must bare to get people involved in the series fighters that make the sport what it should be.
Boxing also has to respond: Make better scoring, replay, whatever is necessary to make fights fair... Have more tournaments like the great super middle weight tourney where Ward as an underdog dominated... that was fantastic! It would move along some of the prospects if they fought each other in this framework.
I think if boxing does this we can take that risk... but who knows lol
I literally said in my OP he obviously helped finance it. I just don’t believe he was the reason the fight generated interest. It was because of the matchmaking and fighters involved.
That is exactly how boxing should be. And nothng should interfere with that. When Arum signed Fury he basically made sure Fury fought less, and for more money. Promoters these days don't care about the matches that should be made, nor about the quality of the fighters involved. If they did? something like Crawford and Spence would get done...

Cant stop it, the fast food factories take over every neighborhood, but the diehards will always know whats real and whats BS, the real in boxing will always be there just not everyone will know where its at lol.
They are but thats ok. Its tough... I mean when you see the casual cards and the silly announcers lol, but explotation is part of the game. Someone has to find a way to let the next generation learn what ths sport is about. It does unfortunately present a lot of "cringe" in the process.

If Arum promoted the fight he would have taken a lot of what these women made. He would justify it, just as Diana White does. Paul sets these events up using social media platforms. It means that fighters get a following and do not have to rely on promoters.
One thing your neglecting to preface is why this fight was not made before. Everyone was claiming it would be a flop and no promoters were singing any song to the contrary. Its the same thing as Bud versus Spence. Do you really think if these guys went on a social media platform, they could not get interest generated in this fight? AND they would not have to worry about paying some middle man, promoter like Arum... Thats a big difference in the bottom line going to the fighter. I do think Eddie is more open to what Paul is doing... and I must begrugingly give him some props for that lol. I think Eddie sees that this is the future.

They are great for business, they are a modern marketing ploy that's riding a wave, the masses get larger plastic becomes more valuable, fast food is booming and motor cars are like Bic Razors, its all about image and selling that image the substance is not that important, if you have millions of sheep following because you entertain them the other shepards see your value to them.
I say more power to them, if they don't hurt anyone and it helps others do better then they are meant to be there.
Sig worthy! Favorite post so far! Lol. Yes!!!
Thank you , thank you
Id like to start by thanking the lord cause without him I wouldn’t piss
My manager Billeau2 , without him I’d be nothing
Lmfao
I actually commend the sh** he says about Dana White, he’s spot on. I’m fully behind anyone supporting the sport. A lot of these YouTubers though are just exploiting boxing as a way to monetise their followers.

- - Make women fight men rules and watch their already feeble numbers in boxing divisions cut in half.
Fortunately U ain't in charge of women's boxing not that I would personally ever watch it.

I think Jake did a good job but he wasn’t the the reason that fight generated interest. I’ll put it this way:
If Bob Arum promoted that fight do you think it wouldn’t do just as well? Taylor-Serrano was a rare instance of an interesting matchup within female boxing and that’s why it generated interest. The same reason Taylor-Persoon did, or Shields-Marshall inevitably will.
If Arum promoted the fight he would have taken a lot of what these women made. He would justify it, just as Diana White does. Paul sets these events up using social media platforms. It means that fighters get a following and do not have to rely on promoters.

Its not about crediting. Paul legitimately has an interest in helping fighters get fair treatment. I don't even care for him as a promoter... But what he can do is show fighters how to create a media presence and promote themselves.
I don't think Paul would disagree with you. He is on a mission to make sure fighters get paid, and has even been in White's grill about this. You might be confusing my point here: I don't want Paul to become a promoter... I want him to show fighters how to promote themselves. I mean you see it all the time. Some lowlife will challenge someone and there is massive interest. Once any fighter gets that attention they are a magnate! Perfect example would be when Floyd fought De La Hoya. Floyd couldn't draw flies before he fought De La Hoya...But De La Hoya had the juice and Floyd was able to capitolize.

I’m fine with him promoting, I think he’d be good at it. As you say like him or not the kid has charisma. It’s a much better alternative than him fighting too cause that sh**’s embarrassing for the sport. I’d be all for him getting a stable of fighters together and putting on shows.
However, in regards to the event last Saturday the credit should go to the fighters. They’re the people who made that event what it was. That fight would have been successful regardless of who was promoting it.

Listen, a lot of female fights, I'm GLAD they're only 2 minutes because it's just pillow punching. Even if they throw a ton, there is like no damage, no staggering, rarely a knockdown let alone a knockout.
Yet for this particular fight, I was cursing my a$$ off at the screen that they should be 3 minute rounds. Not only did these rds fly by, you could tell Serrano could of did 5 minute rds. She was in crazy shape. Not to mention, I think with Taylor hurt in I think it was rd5, she probably would of gotten her out of there if she had 1 more whole minute. Just my thoughts.
