Canelo was right about him being lazy and not serious. Also Jake Paul said Ryan focuses more on Tik Tok, its sad when a youtuber trains more serious and has more love for boxing than a talented and promising fighter like ryan garcia.
ryan was throwing lazy punches and just following tagoe around the ring.
Tagoe's movement confused Garcia.
Lomachenko or Stevenson would make Garcia look like he's never boxed before.
Yes, ryan garcia is tall and lanky yet doesnt know how to use his reach at all.
Blame the runner. Derrick Gainer ran so much and made Marquez look bad too.
It's nearly impossible to KO somebody whose only goal is to survive.
Dude you or I owe you a coke… a great laugh… reading this made me laugh and my Pepsi came outta my nose!
respect bro..
laughing like a lunatic
ever since campbull put him on his arse his heart hasnt been in boxing.
Yeah it seems he is scared to get caught again, only a few fighters reach greatness and those are the ones who when wobbled, rocked or even dropped hard still fight with the same hunger, look at all the legends everyone has the fighting spirit they overcame adversity in fights.
Some of these hyped up guys they get rocked a few times, dropped hard, or KO they are never the same.
I hope Ryan isn't like that but he does have a weak mind and pulled out of a fight with Jo Jo Diaz for mental health issues.
He's only 23, plenty of experience to be had, but yeah, it wasn't a pleasant fight to watch. Especially coming off an impressive win prior (granted nearly a year ago) and then coming back to a dud. Though you can't knock out a fighter whose there just to survive and NOT get knocked out. Tagoe was very happy to just go the distance.
If Ryan can't cut off the ring properly, he'll be like every other big puncher out there lacking fundamentals. He'll just look for that big KO and follow his opponent around hoping for that opportunity which never comes in 12rds. He's got to fix that part of his game because once he can trap an opponent and let his hands go, very few opponents can deal with that speed.
Accurately said, though he need's to protect his chin better, should start to set up his combinations first, him keeping his hands down & pressing forward is a worry especially when rising in competition along with him being too over confident from the very first round.
I'll add another to that list, after Tagoe hit Ryan with a few left hooks, he got a bit more gunshy. I think it was even a similar hook that Campbell hit him with
I'll agree with that one the odd angles Tagoe did throw from what little he threw probably spooked Garcia a little bit
not that he looked bad it is the fact that he runs his mouth so much which puts even more pressure on himself, pressure that he clearly can't deal with Mentally so why even add that amount of pressure
maybe he is learning by not calling out people after the fight, just STFU and put in the work he already has the Fans and the Social Media Following

I think it was a simple combination of things
1. Ring rust came into play with being out for 15 months
2. Tagoe was in survival mode and it's hard to land clean shots on a guy that just wants to survive
3. Garcia wasnt setting his shots up and expected the K.O. to just happen
Tagoe reminded me of Rigendoux in his constant running around and not really being any sort of offensive. These fights happen and I wont be too critical of Garcia until his next fight. Not basing it solely off that performance anyway.

Until a trainer can figure out how to get him to bend at the knees and hips vs fighting chin straight up, he will have the same fate as Broner when he steps up.
Yep. Never liked the way he fights. Far too upright, stiff, with his chin up in the air. He's a highlight KO waiting to happen.
What I noticed is that he let Tagoe off the hook once or twice, most notably in the 10th round where he had him almost out on his feet. That would confirm the lack of killer instinct you just pointed out.
Yeah he just let up after he stunned him

Tagoe RAN the whole time and was tricky. He could make anyone look bad. Kind of like Lara.
That said, it was a good fight for Ryan. He needs at least 10 fights like this to LEARN.
I think the performance speaks more to a lack of skill and experience than a desire to fight. He was trying to get Tagoe out of there, but Tagoe just fought like a complete pussy and Ryan isn't experienced enough to open up such a defensive fighter.
