Not just based off last night but overall he is not making the most of the tools he's got.
Personally I think Robert Garcia would be a great fit and take him out of his comfort zone, I think he'd get him in better shape and tighten everything up, better decisions as well.
Boxercise Ben is the worst trainer ever. His advice to Tyson Fury every round, regardless of how the fight was going was "jab and move", never anything else. The man can't see anything other than the basics. Total chump. Biggest hack in Boxing. Nash out.
Who said he did a good job with Fury? i'm sure he got a lot of the blame for Fury v Wilder 1 being a draw and the reason he got knocked down in the 12th. This dude was in the right place right time when Fury needed a friend now just by being associated with Fury gives him "credibility" i never really liked this guy seems too arrogant/cocky for someone who hasn't done a whole lot in the sport.
Well, I mean people give him credit for getting Fury back from obesity to being able to fight, but that doesn’t really make someone an actual good boxing coach at a high level.
that’s what I mean.
The reality is Tyson Fury was the fighter that ended Klitschko’s reign, he’s a top level fighter and he was always going to come back and be successful if he could get back in fighting shape and hadn’t destroyed himself. But Davison would have you believe he made Fury.
The funny thing is that Freddie Roach was in Tyson Fury’s corner for the first Wilder fight as an assistant and he said the better game plan would be to go towards Wilder, not fight on the back foot like Davison wanted. Fury still won that fight but fighting like that v Wilder gives him opportunities. It seems like going against conventional wisdom to walk towards a big puncher but if you do it cleverly like he did in the second fight, it’s the most effective way.
Roach knew that, That’s the difference between a top level trainer and an inexperienced fitness coach like Davison.
John Fury was the one who basically forced Davison out of the Fury team, said he needed a real trainer.
Probably right
Davison was clueless in the corner. He kept telling him to throw a chopping left hand when Catterall was dipping to the same side every time when he would have been better throwing a right hook or uppercut and let him dip into it.
Taylor is a very good fighter, you don’t have his resume if you’re not but he looked really off the pace last night and lost.
Lee McGregor is a good prospect, European champ etc and trained by Davison and he fought a week or two ago and also looked really off the pace.
Davison has dined out on being Fury’s trainer for a bit, even though Fury got rid of him. They say he did a great job with Fury. Really? Fury could train himself to beat the fighters in his division.

Man he was bloody terrible last night hardly any output, kept getting caught with the same shot over and over, seemed gassed out after the 7th round i wanted Josh to win as well but jesus something needs to change in his camp and pronto.
